I like Happy Egg organic and Aldi has a pasture raised organic option too. Bought another dozen at Aldi’s yesterday for $6.59 or so. Large brown eggs, dark yellow yolks.
Still buying mine from the neighbor down the road. They ask for $1.00 a dozen but I usually give a few more than that just to help them with the costs. Been buying my eggs from them for years and years. Pretty sure they give me some sort of family discount even though I'm not family.

Sounds about right. Other than in the far north where transport has a big impact on prices, that price you're quoted would probably be average across Canada (sometimes a little more, but not a lot.). And FWIW, we don't consider it either super-high or super-low, just a very routine price for that item. Prior to Covid, eggs were less than $3 CAD/doz. but that seems like a long, long time ago.
