Single rider lines

I always thought the intended purpose was having all the seats on the train full for maximum throughput of folks who want to ride. I'm sure there are some who beg to ride together even in the single rider line! If the cast members in charge are good, there should never be more than 1 or 2 people from the single rider line given a seat on any train. And some trains should have no singles. I can't honestly say I've looked that closely at the way they handle it. I just know earlier this month, when we rode EE, the single rider line was really long.... have to think the regular standby line might've been faster!
If you have ever watched this video, you know that FP+/G+/LL was born from the "fill every seat" concept from a ski lift. EXCEPT THAT, it is the regular standby line, and not the LL line that is the "single rider" line.

100%.

I was in that line once and the pen that the SR dumped into got so crowded they had to run 2 trains in a row of single rider just to thin it out after people were threatening to call the fire marshal since people just kept getting fed into it when there was no room.

I had the same thing happen the one time I used single rider for RnRC (minus the fire marshall threats). I waited forever. As I was about halfway from preshow to where they assign the rows, the CM just took an entire bunch of people just straight from the single rider line. It’s been probably 10 years since that happened so I don’t 100% remember specifics, but I feel like I was in line for almost an hour. Said I’d never do it again and haven’t.

Yeah - one of the reasons the RnR single rider line was soooooo slow was that they were going through the standby line trying to match up, for example, a party of three with another party of three rather than just giving each three a single rider. If you're going to have a single rider line - they really shouldn't be spending that much effort trying not to take anyone from it . . .

Do you think this is CM dependent or attraction dependent?

I know the Rise of the Resistance single rider line has been “testing.” Has it been consistently running and consistently good to use? Also I’d love to hear multiple reports on Remy’s to see if that one is consistently good or not

Disney seem to be so bad at Single Rider, why can't they see how efficiently Universal do it?

It just depends on the single rider line. Everest and Smuggler’s Run (and also Test Track but that’s closed) have consistently fantastic single rider lines. Universal also has some great ones but also some pretty painfully slow ones too (cough cough Velocicoaster)

*Cough cough Rip Ride Rocket too.*
Actually, Velocicoaster usually they pull a single rider for each odd party & it moves pretty good. RRR pairs the odd parties so that single rider line crawls along...
