It’s time for lunch at CRT and meeting up with DM, DB, MOH, and her friend, Brenda! From Franck’s we headed back over to the GF to catch the monorail to MK. Once we made it through bag check and the tapstiles, we made our way straight to the castle. We let the hostess know we had a reservation and we were immediately escorted inside to have our photo taken with Cindy herself and wait to be seated.
Once our photos were taken, it seemed like forever to be seated. I’m not even sure how long we waited, but I believe it was around this time when I began texting everyone trying to find out where they were and give a place to meet. Since DM and DB were at Enchanted Tales with Belle, we decided to all meet up there. Side note, DB is a great sport…..he was chosen to be a knight!
He loves this kind of stuff, lives for it…..he’s always happy to make a spectacle of himself. I am the complete opposite. I don’t like being the center of attention, no matter how little attention. It’s so strange because, although his birthday is the day after mine (he’s 3 years older though), we are SO completely different. I love that he had so much fun.
Back to regularly scheduled programming….DH and I were called and lead up to the restaurant, once there, we were given a princess wand, for me, and a sword, for DH (which I think he enjoyed a little too much. LOL). We were also given special laminated placemats, I think that’s what they were, these are normally reserved for children, but I guess our escort was feeling generous. Anyway, we gifted those items to SsIL later. We sat down and our server came over to take our order, she noticed our Just Married buttons. I’m sure there was some small talk, but we’ll move on to the photos. LOL
For some reason my bride ears never stayed on straight and the veil always ended up on my right side….weird.
So, I end up taking them off. LOL
Our view….
I can say this about the food…..it was not nearly as good as I remember. The appetizer was a sampler, and I couldn’t tell you exactly what was on it other than crackers, a couple of cheeses, and maybe hummus among other things, this was pretty much the highlight of our meal. The entrees were not great, mediocre at best, the desserts were good, DH thought his was ok, but I really liked mine....must be why it's their signature. Honestly, we were impressed with the free cupcake, not that it was uber great, but what I remember liking about it was that it had a flavored frosting instead of the generic vanilla cake/vanilla frosting. Even though it's pictured with the desserts, I think she brought it to us during the entrée. If I remember correctly it was lemon. We both said we would give CRT one more try, but we wouldn’t order the same thing (good luck to that since I don’t remember what I had and I’m a creature of habit! LOL).
DH’s dessert choice:
My dessert choice…..I see a theme here…..
Our server also decided we deserved a prize for getting married! LOL Our first complimentary dessert!
Here’s a super dark photo of us with our complimentary cupcake….thanks stupid camera.
Once we finished our lunch, we went to Enchanted Tales to find everyone. Of course, no one was there yet. LOL So we waited for a little while, soon DM and DB came out and there were hugs and all kinds of good stuff. It was the first time we’d all seen each other since the wedding, and they we were all excited about getting to hang out together. We are not an “in front of the camera” group of people. DH likes being in photos, but I think a lot of times he’s more interested in taking photos of me (groan!). I try to be accommodating….anyway, there aren’t any photos of us all together.
Once we all found each other, we decided to get on a few rides. First up was Journey of the Little Mermaid! I must say, not my favorite. Actually, I feel like a lot of the newer rides are all hype and hardly any ride….it all feels super condensed and the payoff for waiting in line SO long isn’t really worth it. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait….that queue line is ridiculous, the theming is spot on, but I can’t imagine waiting in it for any great length of time. Everyone really liked the ride, LM is my favorite movie, so I do love the ride….just wouldn’t wait long for it. We wondered around NFL for a while looking at Gaston’s Tavern and a gift shop. Everyone took photos in front of Gaston’s fountain, but the sun was in a bad place and there were tons of kids playing in it, so none of our photos turned out very well.
By the time we all managed to get our photos, or not get them as it were, we started getting hungry. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like they do A LOT of eating while in the World? I feel like every time I turn around, I’m eating (I know, we had a lot of ADRs, which I’m sure didn’t help)! Off we went to BOG for our dinner ADR. It was packed and I’m SO glad we were able to get the reservation in the first place. We were escorted in and given a “tour”, we were seated in the ballroom. I’d read the restaurant was noisy, but I never imagined it to be quite this loud. We could barely hear each other, and forget about conversation when the Beast comes through. The food was alright, I believe I had the chicken, which, for someone who doesn’t really venture too much away from standards, isn’t saying much. I want to say it was rosemary chicken half with mashed potatoes and asparagus. This would make sense because DH doesn’t like mashed potatoes (I’m certain I’ve mentioned this) and so I will order something just to get them. I really wish I’d taken photos of the food, but our camera was just awful, especially in a dimly lit restaurant. DH, DB, MOH, and Brenda all got up to use the restroom and get photos around the restaurant. None of ours came out and I had to delete them because they were that bad. I could’ve taken photos on my phone, but I’ve been trying not to pull out my phone at dinner, especially if no one else has theirs out, it just starts a bad chain reaction where everyone is on their phones. Getting back to dinner, I believe at least 3 people at the table had the shrimp and scallops. This must be one of the better dishes on the menu because 1. it’s still on the menu, and 2. because everyone who ordered it loved it. We had fun listening to everyone talk about their day and I think the wedding was briefly mentioned as being beautiful. Pretty soon we were all finished with our meals. I don’t think everyone got a dessert, most of us did so we all decided to taste and share. I think DB and DH were the only ones not to have dessert and two of us ordered the same thing. And in keeping with tradition, here are dessert photos. LOL
I think this is The Grey Stuff…..ordered by myself, if I remember correctly, it was basically a chocolate éclair with grey stuff on top.
Lemon-Raspberry Cream Puff, this is the one ordered by two of our party.
And Chocolate Cream Puff….the only one with a Mickey touch.
Everyone enjoyed their desserts, though I probably wouldn’t order dessert again. I think next time we’ll try lunch.
Once we all finished and were ready, we headed out to meet Beast….I never did get to see the West Wing. Oh, well, next time…..gives me another reason to go back!
Just for fun….DM and DB with Beast…..
