Has anyone successfully sold their DVC contracts on their own, and if so, would you do it again and what resources did you use? I’m looking at selling most/maybe all of my contracts and the broker fees are high for what you get in return. I’ve sold two of my houses myself, but you were able to buy into the MLS at that time as a seller and it doesn’t appear to be an option for a timeshare except on Redweek, and it isn’t picked up by aggregators that I’ve seen. The major reason for having a broker seems to be eyeballs on listings and negotiations, but I’m going to be selling two popular resorts, popular use years, and popular sizes and I don’t care about top dollar so it won’t be a hard sale. Thanks for any help.

There is a reddit thread on this. google: Do I need a Listing Agreement to resale my DVC without a broker?

I actauly was wondering about this last night. As looking to buy and way surprised there isn't a direct website or something matching buyers and sellers

I have not sold on my own but I have had a broker lower my commission when I was selling and buying at the same time. Have you reached out to any to see if they would consider taking less for having multiple contracts listed for sale?

No, I assumed none of them negotiate on broker commission, but it doesn’t hurt to ask I guess.

The advantage of listing with a broker is that they advertise for you. If you find a buyer on your own (you could list your contract for sale on the Timeshare Users Group https://tug2.com/timesharemarketplace/resales for instance), then all you need is a title company such as one of the several commonly mentioned here or a timeshare transfer company such as LT Transfers, https://www.lttransfers.com/ to do the paperwork.

There are DVC contracts posted for sale on Redweek.com

I did consider this, but I don’t believe they are picked up in aggregators so the viewership is very limited.

Thank you for reminding me about TUG. I did search on TUG awhile back for rentals and didn’t see any, I forgot to check them for resale terms.

What was the lowlight of your DVC ownership OP?

All of it. If you need a spreadsheet to convince yourself it’s probably a good sign to rent.

Not the OP here, but we are selling, for us it came down to some personal issues combined with all of the changes that Disney has made that makes the trips far less fun. We don't want to wake up at 4 AM on multiple days just to get lightning lanes before our trip and coming from the west coast, we spend at least 2 weeks at a time, so that is a lot of days having to wake up early. We also don't want to pay extra for lightning lanes, but DH no longer qualifies for the DAS under the new rules and the other so called accommodations don't work well, so to use it just seems like a money grab, especially with how quickly they came out with the premiere pass after changing the DAS rules. Add in the massive cuts in entertainment on both coats and Disney simply is no longer what it once was. And there are other parks adding more entertainment and doing more to assist those with disabilities and other places that we want to go.

Hopefully that gives some insight.

Not sure how DAS worked back when they had pre selections since we never used it, but under the current paid system you hop on the site 7 days before your arrival & choose which days you want to buy it & preselect your LLs for those days for your length of stay. I’m not a fan of those 4 a.m. bookings for west coast folks like me - but it’s only one morning, not every morning, we made all of our advance LLs for our 12/24 -1/25 12 day stay in one early morning session, just like we make ADRs all at once 60 days before our stay.

Most people dont even know aggregators exist. Redweek has alerts you can set up and many people do it.

There is also https://vacatia.com/sell-dvc-points They have a fee of some sort but unsure of what it is. They get picked up by aggregators. There are many FB groups where you can sell, Ive noticed those dont usually sell quick unless priced very low.

Except if you have a split stay…. then you have the dreaded 2x 4am booking….

Sounds like you're not completely soured on DVC/Disney (open to rent).

Glad you found DisBoards and hope it has been helpful.
