Or someone else's lawyer said "hush and we'll take care of it." Disney or the broker may eat the expense in order to avoid the publicity.

Doubtful it's for publicity but more possible related to the gray area and possibly litigation. Now if it was DVC then it could be for different type of publicity, the same reason they've tried to sneak in a provision for the seller on ROFR not to disclose the ROFR price.

Wow! Missed this thread before. What a mess. Hope it did get settled to the buyers satisfaction. You only read about one side of the story, but it certainly seemed like the sellers were being unethical.
Makes me glad our 2 resale purchases went smoothly.
