Scene+ Program

We have a Food basics close by so our local Freshco accepts their ads to price match so I'm still able to get my Scene points. I'm too tired to start another point program. 😄
My son's preference is Fresh Co and he is covering 50% or more of the groceries so I do earn some from his shops.
My sister is one of those people you just don't want to get behind cause she price matches everything she can. lol

I'm the person who price matches everything lol. I build my grocery list from the price matching stores. I usually tell the people behind me so they can choose another line if there is one open. The cashiers are pleased to do it - sometimes they're proud of me. I save quite a bit and still get a good amount of Scene points with the spend offers. I wish the Moi program was more lucrative...

Out of all the rewards programs in Canada, i find that Scene+ is the best one out of the bunch. Seriously consider apply for a credit card that racks Scene points, because it is incredibly worth it. On my last WDW trip, i had racked up tons of scene points with my new credit card (also got generous welcome bonus) + multiple IGA trips a week. In the end, i had enough points to pay 150$ off my card during my last WDW trip & also grab a 25$ digital Disney gift card that i used towards pins haha.

We had to learn the Scene+ program as hubby works at Sobeys in NS, so we naturally try to spend the majority of our food budget there. I only used it for movie tickets before. But yes, we found we really didn't earn a lot of points until we (he) applied for a credit card that earns them. We use it to earn points on everything we can, and then apply those points to any travel purchases we make (like WDW hotel reservations!) The bonus points in store are usually not big (200 points is only $2) but eventually it all adds up!

I went to NS back in September for a friend's wedding & popped into the Sobeys in New Minas a few times to see how different it was vs the IGA's back here in Quebec. I miss those small 88 cent bottles of Big 8 & all the Donair fixins' haha

I’m starting to get a bunch of points saved up but still trying to figure a few things out. What’s the “best” way to use them for travel?

Can we “lock” redemption like PC Optimum so DH doesn’t use them by accident?

I don't know about the lock, but I use mine in 2 ways:

1. Paying off travel charges on my Scotiabank credit card, and,
2. Booking "extras" like tours on the Scene+ Travel (Expedia) site.
