Question are Disney gift cards always discounted at Sams Club or do they have to be running a sale ?
we are going soon and friends of ours are members of Sams Club and I heard they offer discount on the Disney Gift cards. If they are always discounted how much is the discount?

From what I've seen the $500 gift cards are usually sold at 3% off. The $50 egift cards and the $75 card packs (3 $25 cards) are sold at 4% off. If you use Cash app they usually have 5% off at Sam's Club which you can use every 24 hours. With Cash app I've also seen 8% every now and then and 10% once. then around Black Friday they'll have additional discounts but they usually go quickly. Last Black Friday was $200 for $185 and you could buy 2. This lasted pretty long compared to 2021 which was up to 2 $500 cards for $450.

The gift cards at the Sam's Club in our area are always discounted. I've got a chart I keep so I can track the discounts:

$50 egift card = $47.98 purchase price (4.04% discount)
$75 MultiPack gift cards = $71.98 purchase price (4.03% discount)
$150 MultiPack gift cards = $144.98 purchase price (3.35% discount)
$500 egift card = $484.98 purchase price (3.004% discount)

This is excluding any offers for Cash app or anything else you might have....hope this helps!

So in practice, I would have to sit there with a stack of $50 gift cards, entering them one at a time? Can I load them somewhere ahead of time?

You can consolidate them on one card at disneygiftcard.com. I consolidate mine there and then delete them from the site for security. Just keep track of the one with the big balance!

Disneygiftcard.com is great. Also make sure you have 1 or 2 physical gift cards in your possession with a $0 balance just in case you lose one. You can quickly transfer the balance to a card in your possession. The max per card is $1,000 so this will guarantee that you can transfer a $1,000 balance if you need to.

The site mentions that you can manage up to 6 cards in your account. If I am stuck buying $50 cards, that means I can only load $300 worth? That is not helpful, what am I missing?

You can add 6 cards, transfer the balance to ONE card, then delete the empties, toss them, then add more, transfer, delete. I think there's a box you can check to automatically delete the empties after transfer.

If you're worried about keeping track (I'm anxiety prone), you can number them with a Sharpie before you start

Target appears to have the better option with 5% off if you have the Target Red card/debit card. I have gotten the black Friday Sam's club deals on the cards. They usually come as e-cards which you can enter on Disneygiftcard.com as previously mentioned and combine them. We have around 3-4 physical cards that we keep, one for DD with all her spending money she gets as gifts, then 2 for me and my husband.

Exactly how we’ve done it before! I’ve also bought individual $25/$50/$100 gift cards from Sam’s Club then made a payment directly to Disney with the smaller gift card amount. It’s more to keep track of but the savings is well worth it to me!

They also have:
$25 gift card (in store only = $23.98 (4.08% discount)

Thanks! They have those at my store but I wasn't sure if they sold them at every Sam's Club.
I don’t know about every where else but they do have them at the two Sam’s in our area (SC), Tucson, Arizona and we have also bought them at the Sam’s in Orlando.

I don’t know if they are always discounted, but, at my local Sam’s Club, there are several options for 4% off the price ($200 for $195.95, $75 for $71.99, $25 for $23.99, $50 for $47.99) and some of these are also available online at this rate. One can only buy 2 of any type (possibly per transaction, according to one employee, meaning you can keep making transactions if you want to reach a specific total if this is true), but I did have 2 for $50 and 2 for $75 at 4% off in my cart with no problem.

In bigger discount news, Discover (credit card) is currently running a promo (through June) for a no annual fee Discover It card that offers an additional 5% off in statement credit (including gift cards) for the first $1500 spent (and 1% off in statement credit after that amount) at wholesale clubs (Sam’s Club, BJ’s, Costco) and many restaurants with a $100 statement credit in your first 3 months and cash matching of all statement credit earned at the end of the year (could credit the matched cash back to the balance or get a check for the amount).

For an easy way to purchase 4% off discounted DGC if a person has a month or more before leaving for Disney, one could order them for free delivery from BJ’s (unless you live in Maine, where, at least at one store, there are physical discounted DGC available for purchase at $479.99 each).

This adds up to an initial 9% off the first $1500, plus the $100 statement credit and, at the end of the year, another 5% (plus 1% for all purchases beyond the $1500 at wholesale clubs and certain restaurants through June) in matched cash rewards.

For the first $1500 in DGC (if one bought this much), this would be an initial $135 off, plus the $100 reward/credit, and the second $135 credit in the end of the year. That would be a $1500 DGC for an initial $1265 (initial savings of $235)–ultimately $1130, or $370 off of $1500-almost 25% off.

I just got a Discover It card and have used it to buy $600 worth of DGC so far. I’m deciding how much more to add (have to decide whether to return and repurchase my fully refundable Get Away Today tickets with DGC for this larger discount and/or add PH).

If you have time, you might want to consider this route. :-)

Oh, I will add those one or two blank ones! I only have the one I where transferred all of them in my wallet!
