ROYAL PACIFIC RESORT INFO...FAQ and more......

Can you recommend the best tower to stay in? Is there one more updated than others? I definitely don't want to be in a building with pets, as I have allergies. I heard they put all pets in one building but I can't find the thread. The reviews have been mixed on the hotel.
Most have good but several note not clean or dated. I just want to be comfortable and cleanliness in a hotel is really important.
Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you!

Tower 2 is the one that allows pets on the lower floors. So I'd ask for a room in Tower 1 or 3. Tower 3 will be closer to the boat launch and Tower 1 will be closer to the walking path to the parks/CityWalk. I stayed in April and had zero issues with the room cleanliness or functionality, even compared with Sapphire Falls, where I usually stay--trust me, I have also read the reviews. The hotel could use a room refresh given the high occupancy, but I'm not working at Universal or Loews to make that happen. I don't think you'll have an issue with the cleanliness; the rooms are dated, but they do a good job keeping them clean. If you are unhappy, you can always ask for another room.

So the temporary closure of Islands Dining Room seems to have been postponed/delayed and it`s still open as of now. I don`t believe the have publicly announced when the refurb will happen just yet, but hopefully they`ll announce it and we`ll know for sure.

Good news for those of us going soon!!!

Just came home from a stay at the Royal Pacific. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We checked in around 11am. No line at check in. Our rooms were ready around 2:00. We asked for connecting rooms and we did get them. We stayed in Tower 1. The layout of the resort is so easy to maneuver that it wouldn't have mattered which tower we were in. We only asked not to be in tower 2, as it is pet friendly and I have allergies. Everything throughout the resort was clean and well kept. Yes, the rooms, hallways and Island Dining could all use a refresh, but we didn't have any issue with any of it. Housekeeping came in daily and did a good job. We always had plenty of towels. We ate at Jakes the first day. My Mahi Sandwich and fries were really good. Others had the wings and nacho's. They said they were okay, nothing special. We ate a dinner and a breakfast at Island Dining. Both were good. Some small mixed reviews from our group, but nothing bad. Overall good. We had lunch by the pool one day. Nachos and a ceasar salad with mahi. Both very good. Drinks were good there too. Water taxi service always seemed available both to and from the hotel/city walk. The only issue was the occasional shut down due to weather. One day they were shut down for over an hour and it never rained. They said lightening in the area, but we never saw anything. We took their bus shuttle service to/from City Walk twice. That was slow. Water taxi is the way to go if it's running. We also took the airport shuttle service that was offered at the time of booking. That was very convenient. Overall it was great time and a great stay.

Anyone else arriving tomorrow? We should arrive at Royal Pacific around 3 PM.

Edit: Flight delay now has arriving after 7PM. ☹️

We stayed for one night to take advantage of the express pass for our two park days. Wasn’t in the room a whole lot but it was a very nice and clean atmosphere. We did have hot water issues though. Went to take nightly showers from the first park day and no hot water. Called and said maintenance would check on it and let us know. Someone showed up about 20 minutes later and said they had a water heater in alarm mode and wasn’t working but it was reset and should be good. We waited about 30 minutes and still nothing. We decided to sleep and try again in the morning and still nothing. I walked to the lobby and told them about the whole ordeal. Very nice and gave us another room to shower and use for whatever but it was our last park day and checkout day so we didn’t need it except to shower. They did refund a big chunk of the one night stay so I was happy with the resolution. Will stay again in the future.

Looking for info on the fridge in the room. Is it one of the new beverage coolers(that don't even keep water cold) or is it a real fridge?

The fridge in our room is always very cold, and yes, it’s a proper fridge not a cooler.

So I finally get to stay at RPR not for fun but for Milton evacuation. I'm not familiar with the parking sitch there. Complicating the issue is my husband had a heart attack followed by quadruple bypass surgery just 2 weeks ago & is still very weak & has to use a walker. Is there anyway I can drop him off in front then go park? Is there lots of parking? TIA - I have to do the drive on I-4 myself - I hate driving - nut he can't obviously - super stressed & nervous about he whole thing.

Oh my goodness, all good wishes for your husband going forward, how scary having to deal with all of this after such surgery!!

Yes, you can go drop him off and then park in the general lot, if it`s full give it to Valet and they should only charge you regular parking charge, only what I`ve heard from others.

The lot is large but can get very busy.

Good luck with it all, hope the stay goes well...sending all good wishes again to you both!!

TY!

RPR, Sapphire Falls and Portofino all have the dreaded communal hair/shower gel products in place instead of the individual little bottles.

It is still the actual Julian Farrel brand not some generic shampoo/conditioner/shower gel.

I believe HRH are still using their own products.

Sorry..another question - if I have to Valet do you tip them as you hand over your car? How do I get our bags out of our car when our room is finally ready if I don't know where it's at? Never valet parked before. Exhausted & stressed. Don't even know what a decent tip would be. TIA

When we use Valet we tip both ways, but I know some folks only tip when they pick up. We tip $5 usually, but I do know some folks tip less than that, some more, no right or wrong answer there.

When you pull up Bell Service will take your cases in a trolley and store them until you have a room, keep anything with you that you may need. They`ll give you a ticket and when your room is ready they`ll bring it up for you. We would usually tip the bell services man when they bring the luggage up for you if you`re there.

Honestly, it`ll be so simple when you`re there, they`ll make it easy for you and if you need any help at all for anything with your husband, please ask and they`ll do all they can for you.

Hope you get there safely and can enjoy some peace of mind once you`re there :)
