Does Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge share a bus?
lol yes, a few have pointed this one out. I do remember it being the case but even in my own experience it’s not common. When were there in December for over a week we only shared once or twice with FW and a couple times with Contemporary.

I don’t know the capacity of the cabins and camp grounds but I don’t think it comes close CBR. Either way, I don’t see it happening but time will tell.

Is #12 Summer of 2026? Maybe we'll cross paths!

Well, for me...the first time we decided to look into DVC was in 2023 and we wanted VGC. I remember going to the official site and being so confused about why it seemed like I could only purchase at a few resorts. That's when I learned about resale.

It's so crazy to me! In a similar vein, I've been researching swim spas for years. The one at the top of my current list is around $35,000. So not a small purchase, by any means. And the other day, someone in a FB group mentioned purchasing one as an "impulse buy." To me, an impulse buy is a snack I saw at the grocery store. 😂

I don't think they always share, but they did when we were there in January these past two years.
We are thinking late June…. as we expect out MKs will expire in early August…

But… we will have to see….

I’m still in my rescission period and debating if I want a third use year now that I scored the June use year deal (current use year). Thoughts?

For context, the agent called me 5 days after I submitted the offer and apologized for taking so long on getting back to me. I was shocked they accepted the offer on the June contract tbh

I wouldn't want 2 different UY at the same resort. $115 is a good number but with the way the points are laid out and closing costs vs MF it could be close to a wash, so while $115 sounds better I think the $120 is as good.

So I should stick with the June contract since I already own a June contract? December would be my 3rd use year. 🤔

True true

I'm one of these strange people that isn't too bothered by different use years. You can plan your trips to be booked when you still have the ability to bank your points if you have to cancel especially is you travel during different times of the year. You can also buy 24 one time use points for each of your use years. If you are an organized person and plan well I think there's an advantage to having more than one use year. But one use year can be a lot less complicated. We personally have 6 use years spread across 8 resorts. But you do really need to be educated on banking, borrowing, expiration and transfer rules to optimize having several use years.

Huge disclaimer that one time use points don’t have the home resort booking window and can only be done inside of 7m.

And @$20pp (subject to change) they are not a great deal relative to the cost of buying a resale resort to begin with. They are good in a pinch if you are a few short and don’t book within the home resort window…. but then if you frequently don’t book within your home resort window you probably should just have cheap SAP’s anyways….

DVC is complicated enough as it is, no reason to make it more complicated.

Apparently I'm going to have three memberships now because of the way our accountant had us deed it for tax purposes 🤣🤣🤣

I have my notebook ready! 📓 Two are in the same uy tho so I don't know if that will help, probably not, because the thing that irritates me is the possibility of having to transfer points which I haven't had to do... yet.

My concern is with three use years and if DVC enforces the one transfer rule per membership, it could get irritating. So transfer June to October then December to October. I don’t know if I want to have to deal with that

I think they are enforcing it at least that's what member services said when I asked them. I haven't done any transfers yet because I'm going to have 259 points on this Saratoga contract that should close by june and the 9 points are banked from 2024 and I have to use them or lose them by Feb, how irritating 🤣🤣🤣

I'm saving my one transfer in and out for that cuz I'm squeezing every point I can!

Same UY, but deeded differently will still make a separate membership.

Yikes.

Is there any way to get out of this? I think at least some of your contracts haven't closed yet?

Super curious about the reasoning from your accountant as well.
