It is currently operating. It has been announced that it will get a retheme in the near future, though no timeline has been released just yet. You can expect extended down-time for it when that happens though.

I would say to try and hit it first thing in the morning at rope drop, usually best time as the park opens, less risk of it shutting down I would say. (It's the strategy we use for Star Wars rides)

 

[Kooks and Bay Bay]

Current wait time is 75 minutes according to the MDE app.

It is an attraction that tends to go down a lot.

And at some point its closing to be rethemed to the Muppets but no official date announced yet.
