Hi All

I know no one can make the decision for me but everyone on here is always so helpful! Looking to add on. Currently have points at BLT and AK. First decided to add on at BLT because we tend to love the 1 bedrooms and have booked 2 bedrooms when friends/family join us. I do adore the poly and we have stayed twice in recent years and they have been my favorite vacations. Now with the tower adding the option of larger accommodations I do see more stays in our future there. However, should we add on there to have the 11 month availability? The elusive October use year has an enticing loaded contract there but a whole bunch of BLT just posted as well with 2024 points! Thoughts?

I would say it depends on a few things.

If you are looking for the better "value" then it is definitely BLT. Cheaper point price and cheaper point charts if you actually stay at BLT vs Poly.

If you are looking to stay often at the Poly because you love the Poly, then it may make sense to pay the premium to stay there.

Lastly, do you mostly want the larger accommodations you mentioned at the Poly like the 1br and 2br in the new tower? If so, there are so few of them compared to the number or studios that it will be very hard to get them at 7 months during any popular seasons. If this is the case you would probably be better off buying the Poly points. But if you are fine staying in the original studios then BLT points may be good enough and you can modify to the Poly studios when available.

As long as you have enough points to make a decent stay with banking+borrowing multiple resorts are fine. I just wouldn't want 25-50 points at a bunch of different resorts. 150-200+ should be plenty

Yes totally agree. We have 200 at BLT and 100 at AK currently. poly contract we’re considering is 160. But this does make me think of “switching out my AK” at some point in the near future for more points at BLT. I have never scored a value or concierge there. Although admittedly I haven’t really tried😆

All excellent points. I agree studios won’t be so challenging yet 1 and 2 bedrooms at PV are at premium. We have been very lucky at the 7 month mark in the past with getting 2 bedrooms at beach club and studios at Poly that I’m not sure if I have a realistic clue what Poly could be like in the future once resort is sold out. And to clarify.. what would you consider popular seasons? TIA

DVC popular will be September through mid January….then again in May when points go down….

I think that the 1 and 2 bedrooms will remain difficult for non home resort owners at PvB tower all year round. Too few and too many home resort points attached to studios.
