Renting recliner or lift chair

Would like to hear from anyone that's rented a recliner or lift chair for their resort room. (Specifically Pop) Technically, we don't really need the lift part, just the reclining part. But I think a lift chair may be easier to find. Please let me know what company you used, how much it cost, how it fit in the room, would you use them again, etc. Any feedback would be most welcome.

The CM at the reservations line referred me to Apria. I'm also finding a few others: K&M Scooter Rentals, Buena Vista Scooters, Mobility Equipment Rentals, Hanicap Orlando Villas, Wheelchair Accessible Florida (and several other names all at 6307 Hansel Avenue-seems a little hokey), Quest Medical Solutions and Care Medical Equipment.

Thanks for your help....

People have posted on this board that they have rented either lift chairs or reclining chairs from CARE. There is a link in post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread to their website. We rented a special bath chair from them in May and were very pleased. That is one of major companies DIS posters rent equipment from.
If you need extra room, you can request that Housekeeping remove or move furniture you don't need. You can also call the WDW Special Reservations number to get assistance. That number is listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread about WDW resorts. The thread is near the too of this board or you can use the link in my signature to get there. Sorry, I'm typing on my iPod and can't tell you which post number it is, but the first post of that thread is an index that should direct you.

If you really need a recliner, don't order a lift chair. My dad spent the last few months of his life using a lift chair, and it didn't recline very much, at least compared to his old recliner. Unless you know a brand of lift chair that does recline like a recliner?

We rented a reclining lift chair from Care Medical Equipment. They were extremely courteous and helpful. It was $150 for up to 2 weeks with free delivery and pick up. Here's the page.

It says it reclines to almost flat, so we'll see how it works. We're not going until the end of October, but I'll give some feedback when we get back. Maybe it will help someone in a similar situation.

Thank you so much for posting this info. I know it is an old post, but it really has helped out my family. We did not know that renting a reclining chair was even possible, and it will allow for my father to come and have a restful time at Disney! Thank you

Thank you for this post. I am not new to Disney, but new to taking someone who had special needs. I am renting a portable scooter from Buena vista scooters and saw they also have lift chairs. So I am going to rent one for my grandmother, but I am checking to make sure it also reclines. I am pretty sure I remember him saying it could also lay flat as a bed so I am sure it does, just want to be sure. It is $150 for7 days also which I think is great!

The lift chair I bought for my mother, which I now use, is a Lane. That's probably not the brand the rental services rent. However, it does recline pretty far back. Usually patients need their head slightly elevated for some reason, so being absolutely flat is not usually not required. Mom could sleep in the chair, and I have done so when lying flat in bed brought on coughing.
