Does anyone know of a company that rents pop up campers?? I am trying to plan on traveling in October with my family of 4, me hubby and 2 kids, it will be a complete surprise for the kids. BUT we are traveling from Pennsylvania. Our other option is sleeping in our tent BUT I would really rather have an enclosed area and a cooking facility of some kind. Travel trailers are just too expensive but may look into it too. Any info would be great. Thanks Tam and Fam

If it is not too far for you. In Fredrick,MD.... Endless Summer rents travel trailers. We were there two weeks ago. They told us about new and rentals. We did not buy from them. About 4 miles from them is Beckleys. They sell travel trailers. We are getting an excellent deal from them on buying a Coleman Pop-UP. We are saving over $4,000. Just for buying it now. We should pick it up on Sat. Excellent time to buy now.

Here's a web page that has many listings of places that rent RV's of all kinds:
http://www.rvra.org/stat_rnt.htm

Click on a state (along your route down), then look down the listings for the towns along the way to your destination. You'll see price ranges for their rentals in each category. Look for a price listed next to fold-down campers and you'll find those places that rent pop-ups.

Here's a place in Tampa. We've never rented a pop-up, only bought them. :) But Tampa could work well if you had planned to spend a few days near the beach at the end of your trip anyway.

Here's one in North Charleston, SC:

Make sure that the hitch on your car will work with the pop-up you will rent and that your car's tow capacity can handle it with room to spare. Towing in Florida is not as hard as towing through hilly terrain. However, if you are not used to towing a pop-up, take it easy at first. It takes some getting used to, especially backing up and changing lanes in heavy traffic.

Hope that helps! :)

Im gettin lazy here, is there any such thing as a company that puts the pop up or trailer on your site! LOL God I sound lazy But I know if Hubby and I are trying to set it up we will more than likely fight, then again dont most couples? LOL thats another reason I am trying to get away from the huge tent we own.

Hello TomandTammy, I also hail from Reading, PA.
Years ago our family rented a motor home to travel to WDW. We rented from a used car dealer at the time. Have you checked local limo companies or car rental companies? At this point I have no ideas for you, but welcome to the DIS! I'll keep you posted if I find anything locally or searching the WDW area.

Would you want to pull the trailer yourself or prefer to have it on-site when you arrive?
