Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge

With that many DVC resorts in the area, I wonder if they'll revisit transportation options. The trail almost certainly would come back, and maybe the boat back to Contemporary? Wonder if they'd consider any other changes like a second Skyliner over there?
They DID rebuild the second dock at WL, even though they currently don't use it for anything (no rentals, etc.). I could see them using the main dock for boats to MK and Seven Seas Lagoon resorts, and the second dock for a boat doing a circle route to Reflections and FW.

Well, folks. It sounds like it might be time to revive this thread! All indications point to construction beginning imminently.

Question is: will it remain "Reflections," or will the new iteration be a completely different name, or even altered theme / layout?

I have been reading about the permits and it seems highly likely they’re resuming construction. Very excited about it as I liked the initial concept.

I think it’ll be grouped with the cabins at FW.
It will be neat to see what, if anything, is altered.

-Will it still include a lazy river with the pool area, as originally planned?
-Will the Table Service restaurant still be Tiana themed, or something else?
-Name change?

With having this many rooms in a single tower all the way out at the lake, I would hope they’ll run park busses direct to the hotel vs. the entrance of FW and having to transfer to another bus that makes a bunch of stops and being the last to get off.

My predictions:
Lazy River will fall victim to budget cuts - there’ll be a much cheaper rectangular zero entry pool & maybe a splash pad.
Table Service restaurant will remain Tiana themed to tie in w/ the MK ride.
I didn’t like Reflections as a name when they first announced it & didn’t like the artist’s renderings, but after watching in horror as they built the grey monolith dubbed the Riviera & in even greater dismay the brown monolith named the Poly tower right next door to my beloved VGF, then they added the mobile home park named Ft. Wilderness cabins, Disney has worn me down & lowered my expectations so much that I’m actually warming to Reflections & have decided it’s not so bad 😂.

The initial project was to be a joint hotel and DVC.

I wonder if that will still be the case.

Any other new leaks / news / analysis after the permits were posted the other day?

There have been quite a few news sources analyzing the permits the last day or two, showing that they're the exact same addresses and locations as the permits filed in 2019 for Reflections. The latest permits are from Imagineering, so it's more than maintenance for sure.

The timing for filing permits right before D23 seems to indicate that an announcement could be imminent.

Gives a lot of hope!

I’m not sold that there will be any mention of this at d23. I would think they will just focus on island tower if they discuss anything regarding hotel/dvc.

If they do mention it, it might be a one last thing kinda deal at the end of any hotel/dvc discussion, member reflections? We are starting that back up, scheduled for 2027 or whatever.

I like the Reflections name, still, (RFLX?) but I hope they tweak extensively the outside look. It's almost identical to the PIT/ITP, which is not exactly on theme or lovely. The interior drawings I really liked with the woven hanging birdcage-type chairs in the lobby with the large Pocahontas statue, and the hallways looked spacious and on theme in a nice woodsy/stick-y theme, but I REALLY hope they don't cheap out on the lazy river/pool area. The CFW and RFLX really need a high-end boost to warrant being so far away from the action, bus transportation, and high dues. I know FW is a draw for many because it IS away from the action, but DVC folks, IMO, like their fancy conveniences, LOL, and having to book a golf cart and/or walking to multiple bus loops to then SHARE a bus with FW/CC/BR/WL is not a thrill.

Dedicated boats AND buses AND a walking trail to WL AND a deluxe fine Cajun dining on site (Tiana's) that is waterfront in some capacity is required, IMO, to level all this up to DVC worthy.

As long as they improved that pool design to compete against Storm Along bay, sure, otherwise don't bring RC into it.
Just thinking since they highlighted River Country as an inspiration in the Cabins at FW promo video, they may be banking on some more nostalgia marketing in the future.

I hope they call it reflections of Reflections

The one thing I’m sure of is that it will either be relocated or be fewer floors.

Beyond that it would be cool if they did a real live lazy river and not the half-concept that BCV has
