Remind her that she achieved her personal best. Jessica is way more focused on how she did then how she finished at the end of a gymnastics meet. Though she is usually over the top if she places better then expected.

Bittersweet indeed! That was a fabulous time for her 5k, and a PR to boot! Congrats to her!
Not sure about if introducing her to runDisney would be good or not! It is addictive! But so fun!

Progress on the "RV Park" according to @Teamubr . We are building a shed to park the RV and a few cars. We'll have hookups outside for when folks come visit.



The excavator has brought in rock for the building base and the driveway. The building is supposed to be delivered this week.

Hopefully it will be erected in 2 weeks or so. So real miserable cold weather heading out way next week and they aren't planning to work during it.

Looking Good! When will reservations be open? I'm looking for someplace within a few hours for a couple of long weekends. I recall Leavenworth being a nice little town to visit.

The drive and yard are a mess. This is two days' work of the framing crew. They think they'll have their part done by Tuesday. Let's go!

Well you had me at K-State and approximately 2 hours of Camp Fun .
Thanks so much Love reading a trip report that has actual places I recognize but also full of inspiration to hit the road .
I’ll always remeber pulling off the road on my way to Manhattan , Ks just to watch the fields of wheat blowing and thinking it was as beautiful as watching the ocean waves especially with the sun setting.
My son went to K-State .

Glad you enjoyed it. The area around KSU is quite nice. It was also nice to take a walk down memory lane.

As for the topic du jour, the shed.


We have a roof and wrapping up a few bits of siding. The front needs some as you can see. As well as the small triangle bracing on the left is an awning over the entrance door. That needs metal hung on it. The shed crew anticipated being done today, but they unfortunately had a piece of metal for the back side ripped out of their hands in the KS wind and it's all bent up now. Another is on order, so not sure how long it will take them to receive that and then finish the trim along the back gable.

The electrician is coming out Monday. Hopefully plumber, garage door guy, and concrete not too far behind that.

Depending n disance could pull some cat 6 direct buy wire to extend network out there. Though there are some affordable point to point wireless solutions that work well too.

Planning to pull electric off of another shed nearby and water off of the water main before it hits the house, so point to point it is.

The shed crew finished today. Just in time for some severe weather potential, so the cars get to have a lid on them tonight.
