Priceline Express Deals

Checking deals in February. Pretty positive the first is AKL. A little confused on the second option. The price doesn’t match for ASMu or ASM. Per the resort finder, those are the only two options.

I did a search for just 17-18.
That place for 101 has a very different amenities list than AS Music.
I DID NOT get the "hint" that I have stayed there before...so it is NOT A/S Sports.

I agree there is not direct match...and I would not take the gamble.

For my dates, Priceline only offered All Star Music as a straight forward booking. The counts are too low for Sports.

Definitely helps to give dates to help us help check, but from what I saw this morning that 3* 400 guest reviews is likely Movies based on the non-hidden deals showing (could be Music, but I doubt it.) The site is definitely a bit confused with the full prices in this drop (on the Value listings at least), but ignoring that the only resorts with those stats are those two.

and yes - AKL is the only 4* 400 reviews rental in BC, so you got that right.

I suspect, but can't prove without booking, that the crossed out price mismatch might be that the non-hidden deals only have Preferred rooms left and the hidden deals are for Standard(?) Still, the crossed out price seems low even if that were the case.

My dates were February 15-20 for 2 adults and 1 child. The only non-hidden All Star offered was Music.

February 14-17 I see a 3* on Priceline Express deal with 400 reviews in Bonnet Creek. It says that it has a fridge/microwave. Any chance this is an all-star?

Did you book it by chance? I think the listing I was looking at for 2/14-17 was the same as yours.

I did not. I absolutely want to stay onsite so I wasn’t willing to take the chance. I am still contemplating the Express Deal that is the AKL for $280 per night.

So FWIW I did some research and I think that is a Quality Inn and Suites. It’s really weird because the hotel shows as Maingate West but the Express has it as a bonnet creek area property. The undiscounted and amenities match. Best of luck!

Oh....my brain has gotten lazy since I am in my own little routine.....and I just had a flashback to an earlier trick I have used to do.....and I am going to bring up the details now.

Here is what you do if you want to try to figure out the PL ED hotel and you have never stayed there before and therefore you get no "hint".

Go out to a different date and find the hotel you think is the match............and book that hotel with a refundable rate.

Once that is done....and to be every thorough....log out and then log back in.

In the past, I have held a reservation at a place I had never stayed at..........and even though my arrival date was sometime in the future....when I surfed PL ED's.....I would get the hint.........apparently that was enough to earn the hint.

So I would then book the ED......and cancel the other reservation.

I have actually done this in the past so I know that it works.

Funnily enough, I found the crossed out prices on these deals weird enough that I tried this trick last week before thinking about writing a blog post for Touring Plans. Now, the only 3* resorts on Priceline in Bonnet Creek are the Disney Values and the only 2 with 400 reviews are Music and Movies.

NEITHER popped up the "You've stayed here before!" message when I booked them then went back to check the hidden deals.

I decided not to write a blog post until I could definitively say that these were indeed the Values and not Priceline glitching out.
I DO think they are the Disney Values, but something just feels off.

Also, FWIW doing my random date checks the other day: for about half a day there were a few weeks of seemingly Value deals way out in June in the $80-$110 range. Same issue - crossed out price matched nothing on non-hidden listings. Then Priceline pulled them all.

Still wondering if the absurdly low $104 crossed out "full price" listed on the Priceline Express Deal is a glitch or Priceline getting sketchy (since there was no Movies room going for $104 that I could find.)

Looking at 3/26-3/29. Saw a blind deal on Hotwire for a 4 star at $244 per night. I think it may be World Center Marriott but was hoping that it was a WDW resort. (I saw some on there previously but at rates higher than booking direct through Disney, but they’ve disappeared today so was hoping it was a lingering WDW resort.)

No number of reviews given but gives these amenities:

Fitness center
Resort
Restaurant(s)
Self-service laundry
Smoke-free rooms
Tennis nearby

Any thoughts?

Edit-- for some other dates in Feb I am seeing the same ED but there are no transparent dates listed. This seems unusual but not out of the question. Luckily my apples to apples example is a 100 percent match. Availability is spotty but the ED's may help someone.

Microwave at the food court....minigolf is down the road.
Lists double beds, but we know they are queens.....but sleep two.....so....Double??

Years ago I had created a resort matcher that tried to use amenities to ID resorts - but they play too many games, too many are just darn wrong information, and a lot of the time the hidden deal amenities are not the same as the the resort page amenities.

Also, most of the Disney resorts in each category have the same same amenities listed, so makes it hard to distinguish between, say, two Values. I stopped updating that matcher because it wasn't worth the effort since location, star, guest ratings and reviews gets you there 99% of the time.

TL;DR Don't trust Priceline amenities.
