I just booked PS for Goofys Dinner. I did not however ask about pricing. Last year when we went, it was right around $31/adults and $13/kids. I just got on Get Away Today and it looks like regular pricing is now $45/$24. Has anybody been recently? Is this correct?? That seems like a huge increase since last year at this time.

Hi There! The price is now 45/24 but you can get them for 40/18 on the getawaytoday website. A little savings helps! They sell there DL tickets a littler cheaper as well. Not sure why the big price hike at Goofy's but it sure is fun there!

This Sat. our dinner will cost $40 per Adult & $17.50 per Child (9 & under) incl. tax & tap - I purchased a voucher from GAT for me (I had $35 in gift cert.) but I'll just use our AP discount (10%) for the kids ~ which will be less than the GAT child vouchers.

Thanks for confirming for me! That is just crazy though! I had already thought it was pricey, but that is a huge increase. DH may not go for it this time. Last year I thought it was pricey but worth it in the end. We loved it. But at some point we gotta draw a line on how much we spend for ONE meal.

Oh, one more thing, How long does it take to get the Get Away vouchers? do they mail them? (Just keeping my options open before making a final decision).

Nevermind about GAT, I just found cheaper at Ares! Pricing includes tax/tip. so final pricing isn't much more than we spent last year...done deal!

Yes ARES tends to be the better deal ~ I just went with GAT this time because of the gift cert. ~ with either site you pick up your vouchers at the parks or Disney Hotels, you just need photo ID. I'll be picking my voucher up this Sat. at the GCH.

OK, can someone explain this a little more? We are going to DL for the first time next week and already have PS for Goofy's Dinner on Thurs. Are you saying that I can buy the dinner ahead of time on some website and save money??? Please fill me in! Is that reliable? DL accepts it and I can pick them up at the park somewhere???

Thanks!

We had already had our PS for Goofys booked as well. That is what you should do. THEN you can at any time, you can buy vouchers for meals that are discounted. I went to Ares just a while ago, and there is an area for character experiences, and they have your character dining choices. I chose Goofys and it gives me pricing ($38/adults and $16/kids) this includes tax and tip. You choose how many of each you want, and check out, you will enter names of people using the vouchers and pay via credit card, and you print your voucher at home.
According to PP, You have to then turn in your voucher at any Disney Hotel or the parks (probably ticket counter???) I have not ever done this, but purchasing was simple and a pretty good savings over the regular pricing!

also wanted to add, I didn't put the link to Ares, Not sure if I can?? but I just googled Ares Travel and there was a section for Disneyland specifically and then on that page that came up I just scrolled down and that's where you will see Character Experiences...click on that and you are set.

Sorry to hijack - But does anyone know the current in-park price of the character breakfast/brunches for Minnie & Friends and Goofy's Kitchen? TIA! :thumbsup2

I would like to know this as well, I was planning on goofy's my next trip for breakfast, but 45 bucks is one expensive breakfast, im really hoping its just the dinner that costs that much:confused:

I've purchased dining vouchers and park hoppers from both GAT ~ http://www.getawaytoday.com/TicketListing.aspx?dest_id *change Type to Dining & ARES ~ http://arestravel.com/77_DisneylandResort.html *click Character Experiences ~ very easy & reliable to deal with.

PS ~ The character breakfast vouchers from both sites work for any character breakfast - not just Minnie's. You'll want to make sure that you're saving $ though ~ Lilo & Stitch and Storyteller's often times is less to just pay there.

Call Disney Dining and ask ~ 714-781-3463 when I called earlier today they could only tell me the price not incl. tax & tip in the past I was given the price incl. tax & tip.

When I checked on prices for our upcoming trip a month ago I was told the following ~

Storytellers breakfast ~ A 25 C 13
Lilo & Stitch ~ A 27.50 C 15 ~ not incl. tax & tip
Goofy's dinner ~ A 40 C 17.50

Will this be the final price at ARES or will there be a fee added? If there is a fee, is it per person? Cause 38 beats 40!

Thank you all for the helpful information!

ETA: There is another Goofy's kitchen at the bottom on ARES for $36 that does not include tax and gratuity. ??

The IN PARK pricing is $45/adults and $24 for kids. I do not know if that includes tax/tip however, I had it in my mind it did not, but can't really say. I didn't look that far into it, because I found it cheaper on Ares anyways. The Ares pricing ($38/$16) is with tax and tip and Ares DOES charge a fee of a flat rate $5 for the whole order (not per ticket).
Hope that helps! I'm so happy I found this today, otherwise full price Goofy's was out!

Just the dinner. The off-peak season breakfast (usually from late September to late October) will be a much cheaper Goofy's option.

Thanks for the ARES pricing! I have to get tickets for 10 adults and 3 kids, so even if it only saves me a little per ticket it will add up!

So you can print the vouchers at home right up to a few days before, as long as you have your PS reserved? I may wait until a few days in adavnce just in case anyone flakes on me ...

We went Aug 28, 2009 and the price had just gone down. It was $40/adult/dinner (tip & tax included in price). With the AP discount, it ended up being $36/adult/dinner (tax & tip included in price). I think the $45/$24 rate is for peak season. We were originally gonna buy a voucher through ares travel, but you need 48 hours ahead of time and we decided only 24 hours ahead of time so we could not purchase them.

It worked out better for us in the end as we saved $4/ person plus fee.

Great to know the 48-hours thing. Thanks.

If I have my Mickey Math correct, I'll save almost $20 total with the lucky 13 we will have. Maybe not be much, but that's enough for a couple Mickey ice cream bars, right? :)

Just when I start to feel guilty about spending too much time on DIS, ya'll save me more money! :thumbsup2

OK, revision necessary. I forgot about the AAA discount.

IF the price WITH tax and tip is $40/17.50 on the spot, THEN my 10 percent AAA discount SHOULD save me more than the ARES vouchers (which were $38/$16), working out to about $36/$15.75 (not sure if the AAA discount counts for the tax/tip, but that's a fraction).

So actually, using my AAA discount is slightly better than the ARES vouchers, unless I've screwed this up somehow. Again.

Anything wrong with my "new math"? Always better to be mistaken now than when the bill comes!

Just the dinner. The off-peak season breakfast (usually from late September to late October) will be a much cheaper Goofy's option.

That makes me happy, I was starting to think I might have to skip it which would have been very dissapointing:cool1:

Yikes, I didn't realize it was so expensive. My sister just made reservations for our family to eat there and now I'm not so sure my DH is going to let us spend that much $. :(
