Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

I didn't get any points for it since I used points to book it. The flight attendant on the first leg told me to ask so I did. I wasn't expecting anything. It wasn't a lot of travel funds but it was something.
Glad you got the travel funds I just wouldn't expect it, sounds like you weren't. That's nice of the FA to think of it :)

Anyone else anxiously waiting to see the new flight release times and cost tomorrow? I'm booking 3 seats and I'm hoping it's not outrageous. I think I am as concerned with the flight times as cost. They have significantly reduced their nonstop flights from my airport and return from Orlando. I explored other airlines, but when you start adding up the luggage costs, often it's not that great a deal. We will see......
Wow, I guess I lucked out. I wasn't paying much attention to SW release dates for August as I am finalizing my trip to Tokyo Disney this April. I remembered this morning and got nonstop wanna get away fares Vegas to Orlando for $499 RT. Delta wanted over $750 RT with connections. Now, if i can just figure out if the new seat assignments will be live by end of August.

Over $400 for a RT ticket to MCO from Indy in August. Ugh.
Mine would be $442 RT as a cash price which is way higher than I would want to pay...But using points we booked with hopes to get them back. If I was paying cash I would have waited.

I thought they were saying they were going on sale at the end of the year but wouldn’t take affect until 2026.

I can fly Columbus to Burbank cheaper than I can fly Columbus to Orlando. On the upside going to Burbank is cheaper than usual but Orlando is more expensive. Looking at random September dates. I do see fewer nonstop flights to MCO than usual from CMH so that is a big bummer. Looks like they trimmed it down from 4 or more daily to a couple on the dates I was looking at.

For my trip to Orlando there were three nonstop flights on a Saturday. For the trip home, which is during the week, it looks like they’re down to one in the morning. There used to be more options than that. I was disappointed, but not surprised.

I just saw on my cc statement that one of my bookings yesterday is there twice. (I book separate bookings each direction.) Guessing it’s just a glitch but going to keep an eye on it for sure. I confirmed I only have two flights but currently SW has charged my cc three times for those two flights that are still in pending status on my cc.

Did this happen to anyone else?

This recently happened to me… but not Southwest. I think it was a hotel. It did correct itself.

Some observations from the schedule opening on Thursday morning:
1) I booked four different flights at opening, using the low fare calendar to book at the moment the flights were available. All four flights were exactly the same price on Thursday evening. All four flights were at peak travel days and times (i.e Sunday afternoon, Friday evening) and were slightly more expensive at opening than the other flight options for those dates.
2) They have added MCO as a connection option for SRQ
3) I booked a flight for 12/26/24 at opening with the hopes that the price would decrease (it will be the most I have paid at opening for a one-way nonstop on SWA since 1997). I watch all of our flight prices daily, and it has not decreased once since the schedule opened.

My takeaway is that I'm not sure booking immediately at opening is as important as it used to be. I remember the days where fare prices would increase before I was able to check out. Also, flights would be completely sold out for holidays within hours of opening. Southwest is slowly morphing into a legacy.

I wouldn't have expected that to decrease it being the day after Christmas TBH. The whole week between Christmas and New Year's is expected to be busy and expensive to travel (both driving and flying). Traveling on the actual days less. USA today from a few days ago says it's expected to be a 2.4% increase between the 23rd and Jan 1 year over year.
My takeaway is that I'm not sure booking immediately at opening is as important as it used to be.
I do think that is becoming more common, it seems like more posters are experiencing that although I feel like SWA is still running sales fairly frequently some airports, days and destinations look like they may not be as frequently included compared to past years maybe that's having an impact where people used to be able to get a reduction in fare due to a sale in the past but now their date, time or destination (or combination there of) isn't qualifying.

As a follow-up to this the additional charge did disappear as expected but I did see something else that I think is new.

When the charges were published to my CC, they are per person, not per transaction.

E.g. I made 1 booking for 2 people but, my CC is showing 2 separate bookings, 1 per person. Did anyone else experience this? Is it new? I have 1 booking for 2 people but 2 charges on my CC.

This happened with both bookings I made that day as I booked 2 one-way flights for 2 people each way but my CC is showing 4 separate transactions.

That is normal for airline carriers in the US. It is not limited to SW. Not sure why they do it unless it is someway to track each ticket would be my only guess.

I booked my flights for our recent (Dec 9-17) trip back when they were released (or at least within the first week). I purchased WGA fares using my RR points and added EBCI. On my flights to MCO, I was A-46 and A-33. On our flight home, I was stunned to see I'd received B-9 for the MCO to MDW leg. I got A-30 for MDW to GRR so that was fine. I had NO intention of boarding after the wheelchair parade, the A-group and the huge number of families so I opted to pay the $49 to upgrade to A1-15. Thankfully, I was able to get A-9. This was the first time I have ever had a B-group assignment and I am wondering if it is due to the new WGA+ fare class.

Possibly.

I no longer book round trips to MCO. I book WGA down and then I book Anytime on the way back from MCO to avoid that.

From what I have learned is that Early bird is assigned to Anytime first, WGA+ and then WGA so I just pay a little extra for the fare when you factor in WGA + Early bird and I get in the A's.
Now sometimes it is still the high A's but that is still in front of family boarding so I'm ok with that. Plus I'm earning a few more miles.

We always buy WGA and early bird. We ended up with a B boarding group on our flight from MDW to MCO on Dec 3rd. We usually get A and I wondered if it was because of all the options for free early bird seating.

I think just more and more people are buying the early bird.

It also depends on when you book the ticket in earlybird on where you end up in line which is why I generally buy on release day

This comes up every few months. The priority order is A-list Preferred, then A list regardless of fare class. Anytime in order of purchase, then WGA+ with EBCI in order of EBCI purchase, WGA with EBCI in order of EBCI purchase. If having an A position is really important, then I'd say you need to purchase Anytime to ensure it. WGA+ will probably get it, if you purchase more than 60 days out.
