Amid I'm here, Didn't realize we could only answer once a week. Like you my yard changes daily. With each new day comes a new favorite. I answered last weeks 4 times waiting for something special.

Love that blue and white Iris. Mine are all blooming, but that was on last weeks POTW.

The Poppy is also beautiful I keep checking mine every day. Nothing yet.

Answer as many time as you wish mam. The more the better. but I'll start a new thread each week so as not to have huge threads.

Little chilly for the rain barrel. I know Snowwark has dunked you a few times. I'm thinking if I cross Amid I may get rain barreled and the cover put on. :)

I think the Plant of the Week in my garden is my Red Centranthus. This is such a carefree perennial and adds a nice airy splash of red to the garden. The bloom period lasts for many weeks and if you shear the plant after the first boom - it will rebloom again.

Here is my Centranthus - took the pictures this morning!

This is NOT my plant of the week - but I did take a picture of the vegetable garden this morning as the sun was coming up. It is coming along nicely... but I do need to get out there and put the wire cages around the tomatoes (soon) and thin the lettuces.

In the foreground is the strawberry patch and we are about two weeks away from BERRIES!

Justjulie - YOU ARE SO LUCKY! My lilacs got frozen out this year (late spring freezes). Take a good smell of them for me. :)

Amid - is that the iris I sent you? If it is... DARN IT! I was trying to dig up the yellow/pink combo corms for you. I love your poppies too. I do not have any poppies in my garden. I think I need some of those! :p (I need at least one of everything!)

Mamu - I am willing to bet that SOMETHING is blooming in your garden right now. :)

All of my white stuff seems to be blooming right now and doing wonderfully - huge giant Snowball Bush, Slender Deutzia, and my white Bleeding Heart. Can't wait for some color!

My violet, pink and red rhododendrons are in blooom. There is one think I'm waiting very patiently for and it in the water garden. :)

DixieDreamer - I was very worried about my lilacs this year. We put in a pool this year and I think my poor lilac bush got run over a few times but she's a tough one - blooming nicely. I'll can't help but shake those branches to send that smell swirling ...

I can almost smell those lilacs....(sigh). :)

Mamu - I wish I could grow rhododendrens. They are so beautiful - but alas my area is not good for them. :(

WOW! Those waterlilies are gorgeous!

beautiful water lily mamu.

Dixie...no, no,no, relax...this is one that I had before. Do you have some like it?

Exactly like it! Mixed in with my yellow/pink variety...

See!

Gosh, I got a ton of catching up to do with these postings! Love that Iris, Amid. It is stunning.

All the pictures are beautiful.

Many things blooming here in my yard on Long Island and I will post those under DixieD's growing thread. This thread is for the plant of the week and I am SO EXCITED to announce that MY PLANT OF THE WEEK is MY PEONY PLANT!!!!!!

Yes! They bloomed this year. They look healthy. It seems I only got the white ones (I would love to get the pink ones too from my mom). I have exactly one dozen blooms!!!

Wish I had time to post pictures. Gotta get back into this and figure it all out again how to do same so I can share too.
