I would stay at HS and eat lunch around 11:30. Going back to the resort and coming back in will be too many steps (more exhausting) and you will probably need 3-4 hours. You could go to a show like Frozen to take a break.

RnRC and MFSR have single rider (both better on empty stomachs). The wait for Star Tours will also be low in case you get a lunch window closer to 1 (wait for mobile order can be 1-2 hrs, so put a reminder to start looking for times earlier).

Also, I do see a few Fantasmic Dining packages available for 8 (only lunch for 50s prime time), although it’s only worth it if you are paying for a buffet. Sci fi restaurant is available for a party of 6 and 2 if you guys are ok eating at separate tables (you can book using 2 accounts).

I would do Frozen and then go to Remy (same direction) and back to do Soarin and lunch and then Nemo and Turtle talk and then spaceship earth. Otherwise you’re running back and forth.

GOTG will have to be either before lunch or 2-3 hours after. Good thing is if you get a VQ you can go anytime after it’s called.

Also, younger kids will want to spend 20-30 mins in the Moana interactive water area (near Nemo). On a crowded day and mid morning Nemo and Spaceship earth will be 60 min+.

That’s rough on DHS. I would rope drop ToT and book whatever LL I could get as close to park opening as possible to have a better selection of LLs unlocked.
Yeah we are planning to do exactly that and will drop ToT upon successful rope drop (little kids...)and book whatever is available next.

Thank you so much, good tips on the walking directions!

Will you be trying to ride Frozen twice? If so, try to be at Remy ASAP after rope dropping Frozen (you can enter 5 mins before (and up to 15 mins after your window) and even the LL will have a queue). Then see if you can get Frozen LLMP.

Otherwise, after Frozen you can meet Anna/Elsa standby and then head to Remy and after riding it, book Soarin (currently it’s booking 3 hours away).

There have been a few LL drops per thrill data, but kids have to be huge fans to ride it twice (our teen used to be; other kids are more into Moana/Remy).

Alright, I have a question that someone might know the answer to... In the later years of FP+ at WDW, there were certain times of day where Disney would "drop" additional FPs into the system that were previously unavailable - you just needed to know the secret times to open the app and scan.

Does anyone know if this happens these days with LLMP? For instance, since we have only two park days on our brief trip next week, we weren't able to get TBA until 4:40 (anyone with a longer trip was able to book for our day as many as 12 days ago. Our B tier rides are earlier, so we will be looking for another E-ticket after we use our first LL just before lunch.

Does WDW still do secret dumps of LL reservation slots at various times throughout the day?

Yes they do. I believe this Thrill-Data link provides the information you are looking for.

Two questions that I think I've found the answers to but I want to run it by the experts here to make sure I'm understanding correctly:
  • We have a group of 9. I'm expecting we will get LLMP for everyone most days, and we will also be getting some LLSP for a subset of the group. So let's say we're buying for Magic Kingdom--we are buying LLMP for all 9, but LLSP for Tron for 4 of us. Do we have to do that as two separate transactions since the people being selected for each is different? It seems like the answer is yes.
  • We are all staying onsite but half the group is doing a split stay--four nights at the Poly and five at the Swan Reserve. For those on the split stay--can we book the full length of stay at the 7 day mark? Or can we only book the first five days and then have to wait for the 7 day mark for the Swan Reserve check in. This was how it worked for dining (i.e., at 60 day mark, we could book dining for all the Poly days but not the Swan Reserve days), but seems like maybe not for LL?

Yes you should split your LLMP and LLSP into 2 separate transactions since you have 2 different travel groups.

Split resort stays don't count as 2 different stays unless there is an actual break in the dates. Only ADRs still have the restriction of having having 2 different booking windows.

I am stuck at a convention for 2 days of my trip that doesn't get over until 3 each day. Since I won't likely be in the parks until 4 and Epcot and HS look to close at 9, does it make sense to pay for lightning lanes these days? I know I have less time to take advantage of them but at the same time, since I have less time in the park, maybe I can get more done? Thoughts?

It really depends on how busy the parks are when you visit. Generally when is your visit planned for this year?

With a LLMP and/or LLSP purchase you can get up to 4 Attractions reserved in total and you can chose your return times well in advance. Your ability to make additional LLMP selections really depends on how busy the park is on the day of your visit.

I'll be there the first week in March. The convention days are Thursday and Friday.

Yikes during Mardi Gras week on March 4th.

If you want to ride any popular attractions at MK or HS, I would recommend LLMP and/or LLSP. If you are traveling as a party of 1 you should take advantage of all Single Rider Queues when ever possible.

MK will be open until 10 PM on the 6th and 11 PM on the 7th & 8th.

The Xmas-level LL prices end by Wed that week (Ash Wed) as mardis gras is a part-week event so hopefully crowds will ease back to just spring break crowds. That said, I'd consider LLs. You only have a few hours and even a few LLs will help maximize park time. Do take advantage of SR as PP said as well. Remember you can hope in any line right up until park close.

Awesome! One other question for anyone--again, we have a group of nine and we expect to get LLMP for at least one day at each park. However, we expect there are going to be some times where folks may not want to ride a ride, but I feel like we're going to want to keep everyone in sync for securing additional LLs for rides everyone wants to get on. So as an example, in Hollywood Studios, if we aim to book Slinky Dog, Toy Story Mania and TOT, I expect we'll have some folks who won't want to ride TOT, but half the group will.

So the question is do we just book for all 9 and then have everyone swipe in and let the folks not riding dip out but then immediately book the next one for the group or is there some other strategy people use?

We visited Disney with a party of eight. When we made our first LL reservations at home, we booked everyone on the same rides. We all swiped in, and then those who didn't want to ride left the queue. Once we got to the parks and felt more comfortable with using LL, we only booked those who wanted to ride. To be honest, this was mostly only me. I would look in a gift store or people watch until everyone else was done with the ride (usually only ten or fifteen minutes or so).
It would have been easy to book me a different ride, but we wanted to stay together as a group, and I didn't mind the wait.

Just remember that some rides have 2 tap points, and the LL won’t count as used unless the guest taps at both. Also, it’s always possible to exit the ride without riding, just tell the CM at the loading dock and they’ll direct you. So if desired everyone could go through the queue together, and the non-riders could take the “chicken exit.” So another alternative.

@badinnplaid just to add to the great information that @CarolynFH provided.

If you don't want to worry about attractions with multiple tap points, you can just tell the CM at the first Tap Point that x number of your party are not walking through to the 2nd Tap point or wanting to skip the attraction line completely. The CM can clear all members of your party and then those not riding are able to make a new LLMP selection for all of your party.

We had a non rider for several rides a couple of weeks ago. I just went in and cancelled that person individually in the app. No problems.

My sister doesn’t ride coasters or thrill rides. I simply cancel hers when we use ours and then book another one.
