Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

We usually book Disney resort packages. This upcoming trip we booked our 2 night AOA resort stay post cruise (7 night) separate and bought 1 park day tickets separately. Check in day (April 5) we plan on going to the free water park (in over 10 years of yearly visits we have never been)

Does the system prioritize resort check in day April 5 (7 days before we will be checking out of the Hyatt to board the cruise) or will we have to book 7 days before park tickets April 6 (we will be on cruise with questionable WiFi).

The system does not prioritize it is just 7 days before your resort stay begins. So Saturday, March 29th would be your day to start booking any LLMP and/or LLSP or LLPP selections. The start date of your tickets does no play a roll in this process.

ETA: Fixed Typo of Friday to Saturday thanks to @LKing

Hi all! I haven't used LL yet so this is probably a pretty "DUH" question. But for the multi pass, when we pick 3....are we selecting arrival times as well? Similar to the old FP system? Is it a set time or a range and does it restrict you from overlapping if it is a range?

Our LLMP window opens up this Saturday for a stay Feb 22-26 (so -8 from first park day). We are going to do MK, DHS, EP.

Current order I had was DHS day one, MK day two, EP last day. Seems like DHS Slinky might be harder to get a decent time than Tiana or Remy so I'm thinking about changing the order to EP, MK, DHS for best Slinky odds. Just wondering if YOU had to order the park days to maximize a trip with four kids 6 and under what would you do?

Honestly it seems like a wash-- no matter what park is our first day will be the toughest but just curious on experiences with MLL and these three rides in particular. Tysm

Yes, MDE will offer a range of times, and you choose the one that fits your plans best. It will let you overlap by about 30-40 minutes or so. But it will also NOT offer times that MDE believes conflict with ADRs. I’m not sure what the parameters are for that.

You can modify to overlap 15 mins, but I’ve found it difficult to get from one end of the park to another esp. at Epcot (be careful overlapping).

You can also keep trying to modify the day of (be careful not to cancel). This was day 8 of our NYEE trip last year (including check in day); hence better availability

Yes. We arranged for HS to be at the end of our trip. Remy was also day 3 and pm only (on extended evening night). Tiana we had on our last day. The earlier days we chose to buy LLSP and no LLMPs.

We used extended theme park hours for Epcot and AK and early entry for MK (older kids with dad; rest joined later) earlier in the trip with resort activities (horseback riding etc)

In your case you might issues earlier in the trip as 20-24 the princess half marathon. We had a resort package so didn’t need to book park reservations.

Based on my experience, having HS first was really hard to get Slinky Dog. You can see if any slinky dog LLs are available the night before on thrill data and plan that way.

I always look at Touring Plans first and make my park reservations based on which parks have lower crowd levels. If HS is a 6 on day one and an 8 on day three, I would go on day one. If the crowd levels are the same, then I would put things I want the best times for at the end of my booking window.

Also, if you do decide Epcot earlier in your trip, make sure you book GOTG away from
lunch/dinner and during those marathons lines at the food booths can be 30+ mins long, so I would eat at your resort or book a sit down.

Do not overlap LLs at Epcot as even the LL for Remy can take 20+ mins during high crowds and it takes another 10-15 mins to get to your next LL. Then there is the inevitable someone in your party wants a crepe or something from the France food booths (one of the better booths).

Just wanna say thank you to the replies and tips posted! I'm having a zoom tonight with the other family we're traveling with and I think it's going to scare them straight ... Into letting me book everything for everyone tomorrow morning.
I had a calendar/spreadsheet (printed) for the 6/10 days I was booking for. Some rides our 5 year old had to be removed during purchase (FOP & GOTG height restrictions; no one else in my party wanted ROTR-single rider sufficed).

I also printed the LLMP sheet so I knew in a glance what the first and second choice rides were so if say I couldn’t get Tiana, I knew Big Thunder was next on the list of preferences/height restrictions etc

Do make sure that the spreadsheet below is up to date:

I’ll be dealing with convincing extended family to buy LLs on Thanksgiving later this year (I did send screenshots of my daily steps this past trip 18-25k). LLs cut down 5k steps and at least 3 hours standing in lines.

Good Luck!

I've read articles about driving navigation apps impacting traffic flow more than any other variable. I wonder if popular WDW crowd calendars have the same effect. By stating one park is less crowded than another, people pivot their plans away from an 8 to the 6, making the 6 become a 7 or 8. Two weeks later, the park that was originally a 6 is now an 8 and the park that was an 8 drops down to a 7.

Sadly my first DHS MLL selections got lost when I tried to check out. So it goes!

given I was booking for 8 I'm ok with what we got overall. Didn't book gotg ILL yet because it might be a lot for my 6 year old .. and my 41 year old friend 😂

I did my LLMP’s and LLSP’s this morning- it went fairly well but it’s definitely hard to get anything earlier than 10-11:00am - also it was the first time I was shocked at how fast it all adds up ($$$$$)! I knew it was coming but wow! It remains difficult to know how long you’ll be in line, on the ride, possibly get stuck, and make it to the next selection in time - then add in the already made dining reservations-I’m used to this but you just can’t predict how the day is going to work out.
I also think having Soarin’, Remy and Frozen all in Tier 1 is terrible-what are the odds you can get a 2nd Tier 1 later on? I chose Frozen one day and Remy for the other Epcot day but I’m guessing you have to use a Tier 1 in order to get a 2nd Tier 1 later on, correct?

No, you do not have to use a tier 1 attraction day-of to book your next tier 1. The tier 1 attractions are only to limit the pre-booking. Once you're in the park and using the LLs that day, after you tap into your first attraction, you can then book a "4th" attraction, any tier. If you have a park hopper, you can also book any park. Having Soarin', Remy and Frozen as tier 1s is likely intentional, so they're not all booked immediately 7 days out by on-site guests...... It at least spreads them out a bit.

That’s rough on DHS. I would rope drop ToT and book whatever LL I could get as close to park opening as possible to have a better selection of LLs unlocked.
