Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

NYE day single day ticket for only Epcot.
As an on-site guests you will be able to initially enter Epcot without issue in the morning, and when you return later after watching your Bowl Game you will have priority over day off-site day guests with an Epcot 1 day ticket. You will at the same level as other on-site guests that are Park hopping to Epcot.

Is it possible the you would be prevented from re-entering Epcot, Yes. You would be with a much larger group. The only thing to improve your reentry position would be to have an ADR.

If Epcot reached a hard closure you would not want to be in Epcot.

Normally they should enter their own Email address and create their own MDE account and then link to your MDE account using the Friends & Famly option. If your DD is still under 13 she can't officially create her own MDE account.

Yes they could load the MDE app on their own smartphone and simply use your MDE Account Email account and password. But that is not recommended if multiple individuals will be actively managing your plans & activities. For example if 2 of you are trying to make a change at the same time the results can be very unpredictable.

Wow I DL the app on DW phone and tried to link everything together and it's all a mess. The should be so simple but it's a disaster. I can't figure this mess out and I'm a IT professional. :confused3

Sorry, I would see this differently. If a guest has a 1 day ticket only good for that park it works like a park reservation and I believe they would be granted access even if park reaches capacity.

In recent years guests with park reservations were always granted access as their reservation was accounted for in the park capacity. I see @abuck75’s ticket the same way and they would be able to re-enter the park.

That is my belief based on the past 4 years with park reservations.

After doing more research I think I have to log into my account and my family and friends and ‘unmanage’ my DW and DD and share an email invite. But I am afraid to do that cause I don’t want to make things worse.

Except if Epcot reaches capacity it is closed to all. Guests wanting to enter or re-enter will not be admitted until guests leave the park. It is a Fire Marshall issue and it is managed appropriately.

Yes this is possible until the park enters a Phased Closure cycle. Being an on-site guest as @abuck75 is good until just before the final Phase. That's why I indicated if they were prevented from re-entry they would part of a very large group of guests denied access and yes it is possible.

Personally I don't expect it to be an issue on NYE for Epcot but I always say it is possible.

Yes, you do have to log into your F&F list and connect the profile in your list with the profile they just created when they made their own MDE account. When you tap their name in your F&F list, you’ll see Connect with This Guest, and you can connect either by scanning their linking code on their phone or by sending an email to the address they used for their new MDE account.

If you have problems, call WDW IT at (407) 939-4357. Believe me, they’re very helpful and not critical at all, including when you duplicate yourself, like I did once….

Did park hopping get closed out last year Christmas time?

Did park hopping get closed out last year Christmas time?
No but it's harder to predict what might happen this year due to park reservations no longer being required for most guests and, park hopping being allowed from park open to park close. 2023 included park reservations for all guests and park hopping was restricted to 2:00PM or later.

Prior to park reservations (2019 and earlier) it was common for there to be phased closures some days around Christmas and NYE, especially to MK.

It is anticipated that 2024 may look more like 2019 than it did 2023.

Not during Christmas week, but it did happen on April 4, 2024. Those with date-based tickets did not need park reservations in April and the 2:00 or later time for hopping had already been removed by then.

Edit: It was hopping to MK that wasn't allowed on April 4. You could hop to the other parks.

I think the real issue on April 4th, 2024 was that Easter was on March 31 this year. There was the early Easter Crowd and the waning days of March break that collided with the normal Easter week daily increasing crowds.

For 2025 we should not see a repeat since Easter is April 20th.

I seem to remember someone posting that it was a perfect weather day also, which may have encouraged locals to go to the park. Regardless, I am not predicting we'll have a day that crowded the first week of April this coming year. (I hope not. I may be there then.) I was just pointing out that park hopping restrictions are not just something you hear about in Ancient History (i.e. the study of pre-Covid times). :)

We happened to be there that day … last minute trip and it wasn’t too bad so gives me hope for NYE

If I'm booking LLMP for 7 guests, can anyone in the party modify the times or does it have to be (the person who bought and booked it)?

Are the VQs for Tiana's an GoG easy to get, or do I need to consider them for a LLMP selection over Christmas week? Would Tron be a decent buy as an individual paid LL?

Yes anyone that is in your Friends & Family list can modify your selection times, and attractions in MDE. All of you can make changes for everyone in your travel group or just a subset. You might want to review the "Modify" process with your group.

It really depends on how fast you are starting at 6:59 AM and again at 1 PM (need to have entered park to try). Tron is always a good LLSP buy if you don't do Early Entry to wait for Tron to open at 9 AM (Standby Queue).

ETA: add details on the MDE paragraph.

So right now I have 3 resort reservations and all 6 guests in my MDE (I made the resort ressies and have planned the ADRs. I plan to buy LLPP and LLMP @ 7 days out for all of us). When we get closer to the trip, I am going to have 2 of the other guests make MDE accounts so that they can plan their own ADRs and LLMPs on a day that we aren't going to be together. I will figure out how to share their plans with them and they will be able to see their plans on the app. Will they also have access to my plans? Or just their own?

You should verify that everyone that you plan to make LLPP and LLMP selections and purchase have or will have a valid ticket assigned next to their name a couple of days before your 7 day window opens.

Will they also have access to my plans? Or just their own?
No not by default you will not be able to see their plans and they will not be able to see your plans. First you add them to your Family & Friends list. And then you need to Share your plans in the Family and Friends List, and they need to share their plans with you. And don't be afraid to call for help. Your Family and Friends list is under your Profile. You can find your Profile on your MDE app by Selecting the Main screen Icon (3 horizontal lines) on the lower far right of your screen. Next on the Main screen, scroll down from the Action tiles until you see the Blue person Icon labeled Profile. On the next screen you will see your "My Profile" tab selected by default. Your Family and Friends list is the "Right" Tab (use the tab at the top of the screen)

You can also add a guest to your Family & Friends list by:
  1. Clicking +Add a Guest
  2. Entering their name, age, and email address
  3. Selecting Share Planning with this Guest
To share plans with friends and family in My Disney Experience, you can:
  1. Sign in to your My Disney Experience account
  2. Go to your Family & Friends list
  3. Select Settings next to the person you want to share plans with
  4. Click Connect My Managed Profiles
  5. Select the managed profiles you want to share
  6. Click Send Invite
  7. The person you invited will receive an email with your request
  8. Once they accept, you can control what information and plans you share with them
If you're having trouble linking accounts, you can contact the My Disney Experience Help Center. You can reach them by phone at (407) 939-4357.

Okay, we're in learning mode, preparing to book LLMP/LLSP for our visit. We check into BWV on Friday, Jan. 10, so I've assumed we should be able to buy on Friday, Jan. 3, 7 days prior. However, to get a better price we bought tickets that start on Jan. 8. I've been going through the process in my MDE app, and every day I got the message that no one in my F&F list was eligible to book. Today for the first time, it gives a date that we'll be eligible to book, and to my great consternation that date is Sunday, Jan. 5. I remember reading about this some time back, that tickets starting before checkin seem to be treated as tickets for an offsite stay, and I can't remember reading whether that issue fixed itself or not. So my question is, do I need to do something, or when we get to Jan. 3 will we automatically be able to book for our onsite stay that starts Jan. 10?

:thanks:
