Paying annual dues with Disney gift card?

that's great! maybe I should put you in charge of getting my gift cards😏
Im barely responsible enough to be in charge of my own. :joker: While loading some last night to the GC site I realized I lost $250 worth. I picked them up when I picked up an xmas gift and I 'think' they are hiding with the gift... I hope.

Uh oh! hope you find them or someone will be surprised by your generosity :rotfl2:

I've been doing this for quite a while now. You are not the only one that has had gift cards that are in hiding.

When I start my dues collection and it's been quite late this year, I record what I have to keep on top of it and the numbers are all in one place when I need them. I don't like prepaying so that means holding onto them until mid December.

Right now I've got all I need for dues and will get them paid by tomorrow.

FYI, Best Buy's website has digital Disney $50s on sale for $45 (10% off) starting this morning. Personal accounts can order a max of 3 in an order, and you can typically place another order once your first set of cards are delivered (received in your email). I can generally get 2 orders a day in during these sales, so I'm hoping the sale lasts for a few days.

Not the best discount but the timing is right for dues payments.

10% off plus can stack with Chase Freedom Paypal 5% discount is better than average in my experience.

DH and I played a game of "you had them last" "no YOU had them last" Turns out it was me, I had them last

Yes you can select pay by contact and put in any amount you want to pay with the payment method.

If you haven’t loaded money to your Chase Disney rewards account I would not do so. Instead I would pay with my Disney Visa to earn the 1% back and then login to Chase and use the Pay Your Self back feature to wipe the charge. You can do do this with any amount as opposed to the reward card that makes you have a minimum of $10 to reload an existing card or $20 for a new one.
Thank you so much for this info. I may have to check out the pay yourself back option. I was wondering if you could use the reload card to pay dues? This card is very limited as to what you can use it for. I think you can use it for only Disney or flights. Not as user friendly as a rebate card that you can use anywhere. Thanks

Yes you can use the reload card to pay dues if you have money on it.

I would do the pay yourself back though as that way you are earning 1-2% back when you pay the dues that will show in your Disney Dollar balance on the next statement.

You have 90 days to do the Pay Yourself back from the date you made the dues payment.

I would also make multiple payments if you want to go this route as you can only do PYB once per transaction. So if you don't have enough Disney Dollars now you could make a smaller charge of dues to be able to wipe it out.

Are you wiping it out just to redeem most the points now as opposed to letting them carry over?
I only use the card if I get a bonus opportunity from Chase so yes, I burn them as soon as I get them. I won’t ever have a big stash as I have the one percent card so the most I would have would be $75 when they offer 5% up to $1500 in certain categories.

I just tried to pay off some of my contracts with a GC but every time I try it says " Cannot make any payment as credit card is expired : null null creditCardN "

Anyone else experienced this today or some other day. Hoping it's a Disney bug. Tried using my CC on a single contract and that worked fine.

My contracts was in autopay, so I tried with autopay turned on but also turned off, same result.

Same result here today. I tried to make a partial prepayment of some 2026 dues by contract with a GC and received: " Cannot make any payment as credit card is expired : null null creditCardNo: ".

Autopay is off as I've never had it turned on due to I always prepay with GC's.

I'll try again in a few days.
Hopefully it's just a temporary Disney bug and not a new feature.

Sort of glad I’m not the only one. Chatted with MS and they said everything is fine. Tried to find the phone number for gift cards but I don’t think there are one - maybe if you lost your card, but not in this case.

Just came here to see if anyone else was having issues. Did MS offer any suggestions? Member accounting is closed on the weekends, so you can't talk to them until Monday.

Same as @mbland. Prepaid 2026 fine the other day, now same error message. I did place some of my contracts on monthly for 2026 at that same time, but none of the contracts on that resort designated as monthly.

Same problem today. Got the same error about 'card expired'. Hoping it's a glitch so I'll try again tomorrow.

Was your GC large enough to cover the balance in full?
