They took away the overnight parking charge at resorts a couple years ago. Free for all guests. If you are staying at a WDW resort using your DVC Membership (paying with points or with cash if you booked through Member Services), parking at the resort is free. If not using your membership to stay, overnight parking is not free. However, it is free to day guests.
As mentioned above, parking at the theme parks is free if you are staying at a WDW Disney resort. DVC membership does NOT entitle you to park for free at the theme parks. However, APs do.

Thanks. Last time we drove into a park-no AP’s just DVC, we were not charged. Had to be 2 or maybe 4 years agoThey took away the overnight parking charge at resorts a couple years ago. Free for all guests.
For parks, if you are not on site and not an AP, you should have been charged.Thanks. Last time we drove into a park-no AP’s just DVC, we were not charged. Had to be 2 or maybe 4 years ago
Ok. Thanks. As long as we don’t have to pay, we are all good. Appreciate the info. Before March 2018, there was no parking charge for persons staying at the Disney World resorts. The overnight parking charge was adopted in March 2018. That decision was then reversed and returned to the original no-charge parking in January 2023.
As to theme park parking, it has always been that those staying on site or having annual passes (since 1982 when Annual Passes were first created) get free parking.
Being or not being a DVC member has itself never been the issue concerning the above parking rules. Prior to October 2009, DVC members got free valet parking at the DVC Resorts that had valet parking. Disney was actually required to allow that because the valet parking employees worked for Disney and DVC annual dues included a share of their wages and benefits. Effective October 2009, Disney outsourced its valet parking for all resorts to an outside contractor, which resulted in members no longer covering the costs in dues and thus allowed for charging them for valet parking.
IIRC (we were at BWV last week) it was $41 or $42/night.Should we choose, how much is valet parking per night?
Thanks,
Dee
Ten years ago valet parking at any Disney resort in WDW that has it (both DVC and non-DVC) was $20. In 2024 alone the price was first increased in Feb from $33 to $39 and then again in Oct from $39 to $42. At the rate the fee is being increased, the correct answer to your question is the rate will depend on when you go but it is currently $42.Should we choose, how much is valet parking per night?
Thanks,
Dee
Yes, every time we trudged to and from the BWV parking lot last week, I remembered those wonderful days! We could all get out of the car together at the lobby door and enter the room together whenever we arrived, and when we wanted to use it we just called down and asked them to bring our car around, and it would be waiting when we got downstairs. Wonderful days!I remember the free valet parking days. Oh well…thx for the info.
I believe with a HC placard, valet is free if staying at the resort. Maybe even if not, though with the restricted parking at BWV, I cannot say for sure if they would let them park without being a registered guest or having an ADR. If so, just tip the valet!I just got into BWV for my Spring trip with a friend of mine! I was originally at AKV, switched to BR and on the very off chance, checked the DVC site and put in the BWV (one of my home resorts) and it came up for my dates! Woohoo! So I called and had them switch it.
So here is my question....my friend needs and has a handicap parking pass. If we have a car, is valet parking discounted for her at all? Personally, I prefer NOT to have a car at the BW, but if she drives in to meet me there (yet to be determined), well then, she will have a car.
TIA,
Dee
Yes, valet parking is free for guests with handicap placards or license plates. So no worries. So here is my question....my friend needs and has a handicap parking pass.
