***Official January 2025 Thread***

The long term forecast for mid January/my trip (1/11-1/25) is looking pretty cold. Highs in the mid to high 60s most days and a few rainy days it looks like. The 11th looks like highs in the 50s! Those poor racers. Hopefully it’ll change as we get closer (12 days away!) but I don’t see how it’ll change that much. Oh well, no swimming I guess!

Don't worry too much about the racers and the 50s. For some long distance runners, the 50s is perfect. DH used to run a marathon on Cape Cod in November every year, and the only time he complained was the year it was super windy!
I'm just worried that that weather will keep me from trying Geyser Point again. Last time 50 degree weather did. But I'm hoping it warms up by the time I go, the following week, so I can try Geyser Point.

I'd really like to do the fitness class hosted by Cirque du Soleil...but it's at exactly the same time as our Whispering Canyon reservation 🤦🏻‍♀️
I'd love to do this too. I'll have to check out the schedule. I just know I'm going to struggle to find the time for it 😆

We've extended our trip dates due to getting 14 day tickets off Attractiontickets.com. (Thanks to whoever mentioned that in this thread!!)
That may have been me 😉 Glad you were able to make use of them for your trip!

How soon does everyone start packing?
We don't get to WDW until 27 Jan, but we leave for our trip on 17 Jan. Ours is an international 4 week vacation though, so I've definitely been thinking about packing to make sure we'll have everything we need. I'm finding it really difficult as I have no idea what to expect weather-wise, and realise that the long-range forecast may not be that accurate so far out. Plus we have stops in SE Asia and Vegas on the way through, so I have to pack for hot and humid, super cold, AND the more mid-range weather I'm expecting at WDW. Plus we're doing our post-wedding shoot at WDW so I have to pack my wedding dress and a full makeup kit which I don't normally bother with. I've got a spreadsheet going so I can plan any special outfit requirements and go from there, but definitely open to any tips!

Sounds like you have quite the voyage planned!

I'm starting to think about my lightning lane plans. I have it mostly sorted, I think, we have 7 park days and we are going to do LLMP for 5 days.

But two things I haven't quite figured out yet:

1) Tiana's or Peter Pan for MK Tier 1? We haven't been on either, so they would ideally both be priorities. Mainly worried about the wet/cold factor for Tiana's - if we were going at a warmer time I think it would be easier to prioritize over Peter Pan.

2) Our 5th LLMP day. We will have a day with LLMP in each park, but not sure what I should pre-book for day 5. Thinking of booking at AK for the earliest times/cheapest LLMP and hoping to HS afterwards.

My DH is really worried about the weather now. We arrive on the 11th and he's somewhat of a weather nerd so he follows a lot of weather people and sites. Obviously the cold is concerning but he also seems to be convinced this will be a real winter storm with strong winds and a lot of rain (obviously actual ice is not really expected in Orlando). So we are kind of a in a holding pattern right now because he either wants to cancel or postpone, but I'm pretty limited on other times we could go. I could maybe postpone to the last week of January, but we'll see.

I'm ready to bundle up and deal the cold if I have to, but if there is a storm he's out for sure.

We arrive on the 11th too. I’m hoping and praying the weather will change. Of course there would be an unusual arctic front when we arrive. I picked January for cooler weather but I wasn’t expecting that cool. Unfortunately we can’t reschedule, we’re very locked in to our 2 weeks.

Yeah he's like "you booked in January, what did you expect?" Um... I certainly didn't expect THIS in Orlando of all places lol.

We are now doing a split stay. ASSp 20th-25th and then AoA 25th-31st. This will be our longest trip ever, and I'm super excited since we will have a 4 and 2 year old in tow. We can really take our time and not feel rushed.
Woohoo! Your information has been updated!

It’s too early to know the weather for the 11th, right? The winter weather could run its course by then. (We arrive the 16th).

Personally I wouldn’t mind the cold weather if it means crowds will be a little lower. Easter Sunday last year we went to the San Diego Zoo and were bracing for crowds, but it rained and all the locals stayed away. It was a glorious day at the zoo! Not sure if same would apply to Florida residents and cold weather.

Also if it’s cold, I will feel better about staying at BC while the pool is closed!

However, I just saw a comment on FB that the Stormalong Bay closure may not happen till Jan 31!
