Thanks for starting us off PollyannaMom!!! I love the color scheme of your postā€¦very aesthetically pleasing.

Iā€™m home today enjoying my first sick day of the year after a less than relaxing weekend with the boyfriend. I am normally the ā€œhostess with the mostessā€ but itā€™s hard to maintain that level when you donā€™t feel well and this is becoming 3 out of 4 weekends a month. I will adjust to our new normal and I will probably like him more when weā€™re more comfortable with each other. DH has no problem putting him to work, but I find him to be ā€œunder foot.ā€ I also donā€™t like having to CONSTANTLY WEAR A BRA. I tried a sports bra on Saturday thinking it would be better than an underwire, but it chafed my skin so that was a bad idea. I sleep naked, but since I wake up multiple times to use the bathroom, I now have to sleep in a nightgown. I donā€™t trust myself to remember to put on a robe. God forbid I run into him in the middle of the night giving him the shock of his life.

I am open to any and all advice anyone has.

Tomorrow is my appointment with my asthma specialist. I wrote a long list of symptoms and questions. I love her, so at least Iā€™m seeing a kind and competent doctor tomorrow rather than the doctor I literally canā€™t stand.

Have a great week everyone.

I'm Summer...58 years old, about to turn 59 on October 5th. Iā€™m married 30 years to my DH, 64. We have one DD, 25. I'm a veteran early childhood teacher in an inner city public school currently teaching kindergarten. Iā€™m now Kindergarten Teacher Leader which gives me responsibility for the entire teaching team. I use MyFitnessPal to become healthier and in better physical condition. My ultimate goal is to lose 55 more pounds. I am working on accepting my post menopausal body including the lower metabolism. Iā€™m trying hard to be consistent and treat this process as a forever lifestyle rather than a temporary fix.

I knew that being back in a very structured routine would help me lose weight. I have lost 10 pounds since school started!!!!!!!!

Hi, I'm Lizanne, a single lady living in the beautiful PNW. I love fall and love October, so looking forward to a fun and healthful month.

Goals for October:
- Lose that pesky vacation weight by getting back to the basics of good food choices and plenty of exercise.
- Successfully complete the next Moon Cycle of intermittent fasting... I've been all over the place in the current cycle but I did start in the middle of it, so I'm giving myself that.

- Regain focus on bringing people in to my life... both my Golden Girls Posse and romantic love. This will be a combo of getting out there and doing things and also working more with my counselor on attachment style (I'm avoidant, no big surprise there) and other things that have been blockers.

The pumpkin trip was delightful... but my Niece and I may or may not be going back for more. Here's my haul:

I love them all.

Iā€™m Danielle, living in central PA with DH, DD and a variety of adorable and loving pets!! We have 2 boys who are young adults up and out of the house but close by! We do all things dog rescue in our spare time!!

Goals this month are to start tracking honestly l (I have been ā€œleaving things outā€ for the past weekā€¦.) and lose 5lbs before DD and I go to Disney on 11/1 šŸŽ‰šŸ˜Š.

Good Morning Friends and Happy Tuesday!!! Today I have a few fun fall questions for Topic Tuesday!

WOULD YOU RATHER:

1.Go to a corn maze or haunted house?

2. See the leaves change in Colorado or the leaves change in New England?

3. See the fall leaves change in the USA or the spring cherry blossoms change in Japan?

4. Extend summer and go to the beach or go on a fall camping trip in the mountains?

my answers are below:

WOULD YOU RATHER:

1.Go to a corn maze or haunted house? Corn maze!!! I HATE being scared!

2. See the leaves change in Colorado or the leaves change in New England? I am going to say Colorado because I have seen them change in New England

3. See the fall leaves change in the USA or the spring cherry blossoms change in Japan? Japan! Since I have never been!

4. Extend summer and go to the beach or go on a fall camping trip in the mountains? beach trip-I love fall at the beach!!!

WOULD YOU RATHER:

1.Go to a corn maze or haunted house? Neither. I get annoyed walking through a corn maze and I hate being scared. Since I should choose one, Iā€™ll pick the corn maze and wait at the exit for the winner.

2. See the leaves change in Colorado or the leaves change in New England? New England

3. See the fall leaves change in the USA or the spring cherry blossoms change in Japan? USA

4. Extend summer and go to the beach or go on a fall camping trip in the mountains?

Beach. Weā€™re planning a trip to the beach on my 60th birthday next October. I donā€™t want a big party focusing on that number. Instead, I would rather visit my favorite place and stare at the ocean.

Hi Everyone. Sorry I have been gone for a bit. Things here got super crazy a little over a week ago. On the 23rd the kids had homecoming and Jeff picked up his grandmother so she could see the kids and get some pictures. She loves this kind of stuff. She has been a bit more unsteady lately, she is 82, and lost her balance and fell at the end of August. We have been working with the doctor on this but haven't found the cause yet. Well anyways, Jeff took her up to the park where Nick was at and dropped her off at the curb where there was the wheelchair spot so she didn't need to step up on the curb and asked if she needed help to get to the benches so she could sit and wait while he parked the car. She said no and as soon as she shut the door she fell.

I was at home with Elizabeth and her friend getting ready to leave for where they were going to get pictures and I get a frantic call from Jeff that I needed to head to him. Thankfully Elizabeth heard what was going on (I had Jeff on speaker since I was putting Elizabeth's earrings in. She handled this extremally well and said she would find a friend to pick them up. Very out of the norm for her. After a few more frantic calls from Jeff, I finally made it to where he was. There was no doubting that she broke her wrist. I took his grandmother to the ER and then stayed the night with her at her apartment until Jeff's move arrived. She lives about 1 to 1.5 away.

Jeff made it back to Elizabeth in time to take her to get pictures and take the girls to the dance. I am a bit sad that I missed everything with her but I was where I needed to be and she understood. I did get to see her dressed up and I was able to see Nick and his date for a quick few pictures before everything happened.

Last week we took her to the ortho where his grandmother had the choice of a cast or surgery. She choose surgery so that was on Friday. She is doing pretty good but is scarred to death to walk and can't really get herself up from a sitting position because she doesn't have use of her dominate hand. We are looking into options now for her. She is refusing to go to Jeff's mom and they are already fighting. His doesn't work so that would be the best option in theory but it is not going to work. She can't be home alone right now either. Jeff and I both work full time and have at least Elizabeth to get places and our house is too small to have her here. We just can't be with her 24 hours but doing what we can to help.

On top of all of this both kids were sick last week. Elizabeth was at a school camp all week as a councilor and I got a call that she needed meds. I was the best mom in the world as I drove 1.5 hours to her to give her medicine (it was just a cold) and then drove and hour to the office for work on Thursday. Nick was home for about a day and a half sick. I tested him for covid. Thankfully it was negative. They both had the same thing. Thankfully Jeff and I seem to have missed getting it. But with all the craziness we ate out a lot and did get out to walk as we wanted too. We were just exhausted.

So this is why I have been absent for awhile (or what feels like a long time). While we figure out how to care for Jeff's grandmother, I may not be on much but I will try and update how I am doing with losing weight and such when I can.

I will leave you with these too pictures from Homecoming. One of the parents in Elizabeth's is a professional photographer and took all the pictures for that group. And yes the cowboy boots are her thing. She started that her freshman year and has stuck with it every year.

Loving the pictures, not all the stress...hopefully things will calm down for you now.

A corn maze for sure, I hate haunted houses with creepy stuff jumping out at you... it's like giving an open license to people to be mean.

I'd love to leaf peep in New England one year and since fall is my favorite definitely watch the leaves turn in USA.

Fall trips to the ocean beach are the best. My town isn't on the ocean but there's water on three sides so I plan on getting plenty of autumn beach walks in, and then in late October I'll be heading out to the true ocean coast for the annual remembrance trip for my Brother.

My thoughts exactly, @piglet1979!

WOULD YOU RATHER:

1.Go to a corn maze or haunted house? Corn maze - they are almost too intense for me lol!

2. See the leaves change in Colorado or the leaves change in New England? I'll have to go with New England because we've never been there at all, I'd love to go during the fall!

4. Extend summer and go to the beach or go on a fall camping trip in the mountains? Beach trip - always the beach!!

Joining in for the month - my name is Becky and I'm from the midwest. Married for 31 years with 3 mostly grown kids (youngest is 21 and still at home going to school). We just got back from an extended weekend away from a family wedding and had a great time. My middle DD wasn't able to go, but the rest of us went and my mom joined us as well.

My goals for this month are:

1. More consistent tracking
2. More consistent exercising
3. Lose 5 pounds

Now that we're back from our short trip, I need to get serious for the next month. DH and I are going on a cruise at the end of this month, so I have a shortened time to meet my 5 pound goal, but I know I can do it if I put the work in!
