New Hotel Ideas for WDW

I was watching a YouTuber check out the new hotel at Epic Universe and he mentioned almost in passing that he'd probably never have a similar experience with Disney doing a grand opening of a new hotel.

And I thought "why not? Why wouldn't WDW need to build a brand new property at some point in the relatively near future?"

Then I got to thinking what it would be and where you might put it on the property.

My dream idea is a Hollywood Tower Hotel themed exactly like the pre-Tower of Terror story on the ride.

What are your thoughts?

I would love a Hollywood Tower Hotel! The only issue would be using the elevators.... 🤣

It seems Disney is building more add-on properties with a focus on DVC. They did just open the new tower at the Poly. Of course, they also builr The Riviera not too long ago, and that was all-new.

Personally, I would love an all-in Haunted Mansion style place, but I don't think people are up for that kind of heavy theming (see Galactic Starcruiser). It might be good to just do a regular hotel with lighter park theming - like an Adventureland building, a Tomorrowland building, etc.

I feel like the MK area might be the most in need, considering all the new park space they continue to add.

A hotel with sections themed after each land at MK there would be amazing.

I think they should resurrect the Starcruiser. Have it stranded in a remote planet instead of flying through space. Add real windows and even patios. Change the surrounding landscape into a barren land. Create several hot springs, craters, etc. as swimming pools.

vloggers are some of the biggest moochers!!

I believe the new poly tower had a media event very similar. The had room tours along with food samples so maybe said vloggers was not invited.

I've always felt two themes would be really cool for a new Hotel at WDW.

1. Japanese themed. Could have some great restaurants, cherry trees all over and some great dry gardens/rock gardens.
2. Moroccan themed like a large Riad. Endless possibilities.

I do think they could repurpose the Starcruiser for sure. Just make it a regular hotel and add some ammenities. They could have a dinner show in the restaurant, open to all guests. They might have to expand it a lot for that too, so I don't know if it's feasible.

A heavily themed Disney animation hotel/DVC with an entrance into MK. Different wing for different properties/themes. Great for kiddos and families

A spooky themed Haunted Mansion and/or Villain's themed hotel/DVC with an entrance into MK near HM/the new Villain's land. Good for older kiddos and adults

Starcruiser expansion into a Star Wars hotel/DVC with an entrance into HW studios

Epcot area hotel with direct entrance into Epcot. Maybe different country/regional themes in different wings

AKV expansion with walking path and skyliner to AKV. Doesn't even need to be Savannah view or anything. Could add a wing themed with just Animals from beloved Disney movies. Would also help lower dues from the other AKV site if they have more rooms but the same amount of actual animals.

I guess I am just not sure why they haven't added more well themed, direct entrance hotels/DVC in WDW. They would sell like hot cakes. Look how well VGC holds it's value at DL.

Don't really mind what the theme is as long as it isn't a bland, unthemed tower. Resorts like Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge are my favorites theming wise and I feel like those details are sorely missed in newer hotel builds.

They are currently re-routing Floridain way which to makes this a prime location for a new resort...

But really, I don't think it would be a VGF add-on since I think they have to at least have 40 years on the deed?

Or am I mis-remembering that?

Hopefully something good since they are doing such a large expansion

I think it would be a neat idea to sort of resurrect Horizons as a hotel, with different wings representing the different biomes from the original attraction.

Swiss, patterned after the Bellevue des Alpes at Kleine Scheidegg, Switzerland. Then put a Switzerland pavilion between Germany and Norway, along with the Matterhorn roller coaster from Disneyland.
