New Disney Ships: News, Rumors, Speculation.....and Names!

You are assuming that new cruisers are not informed. Many of them do research and will find this out. And if they find it out even after sailing? That could make them feel that they got the short stick (many new to DCL cruisers already feel that way due to CC members getting first dibs at Palo (especially brunch) and drink tastings. And there are a LOT of DCL cruise vets the first few months of a new ship launching.
Agreed. With social media groups, new cruisers more and more know about things that used to only really be known by DCL veterans.

I volunteer as tribute to NOT have Lion King twice. Those pictured menu items don't look good to me.
There are a few more dishes I found (no good stock photos sadly) that different media shared. Maybe some of these would work for you?

Swahili Coconut-Tamarind Red Snapper Filet served with coconut rice, pineapple-mandarin capsicum compote

Peri-Peri Shrimp sautéed chili-garlic shrimp, creamy gouda pap, toasted corn, and peri-peri sauce

Port Wine Braised Center-Cut Beef Short Rib served with Malanga mash, long green beans, and crispy shallots

MAYBE the final one - though short rib is not my favorite. I'll have to look up Malanga though. I don't do seafood, so the first two are out.

I'm not the biggest Lion King fan anyway (I do like it more than Aladdin and about as much as Coco, so...), so maybe that could be Palo night for me and if I'm unlucky enough to get it twice, either splurge on another Palo or just do room service and have a chill night.

I do appreciate that it seems that DCL is branching out a little bit more to other cuisines, or at least ones that may be less-familiar to many. A lot of the food items on the classic ships seem pretty 'standard' with maybe one item on each menu that's a bit more adventurous. With the newer ships, some of the places like Coco and Lion King have menu items people may be less familiar with.

There are pros and cons to that, of course. Just making an observation.

I don't have issues with other cuisines per se. I just don't eat seafood and cannot stand black-eyed peas.

If I remember my announcements right, there's one more Triton class and then the other 2 off the line are somewhere between the classic ships and the triton ships in size.

I think you can expect more IP, mainly because the age range of people booking vacations expect IP?
It’s not about who’s booking it. It’s just a lack of creativity at Disney nowadays. It is seen in the parks and in the hotels. It’s a shift within Disney that I don’t like.

Especially with them paving over Rivers of America to build a Cars-ish land at MK! Not only lack of creativity, but destroying some of the original creativity and beauty.

I think the Treasure shows that, despite the layout issues of the Wish class, Imagineering is pouring out a lot of creativity! The Destiny is going in the same direction, following in the footsteps of the Treasure rather than the Wish. This blogger, who is often critical, agrees and explains that point of view better than I can: https://www.disneytouristblog.com/f...-entertainment-on-disney-destiny-cruise-ship/

Not liking something new/being replaced/embracing a different theme is not the same as there being no creativity.

Cars-ish land and Villains Land. Don’t just put it all on the Cars part.

In fairness, Rivers of America at WDW is only so creative just being a larger clone of what is in Disneyland. Not saying it isn’t something that’s loved, but it is a copy of something that already existed.

A 4th Wish Class in 2027, and a 5th Wish Class in 2029 (For Tokyo)

Then 3 new smaller class of ships in 2029, 2030, and 2031. (Somewhere in size between the Magic class and the Dream class)

I don’t think slapping IP on everything is creative. I think theming all the bars to Europe on the Fantasy is creative. Or in the parks back when the Hollywood Studios was actually about movies. Now it’s just IP everywhere. The wish class is just hodge pod of different IP scattered around the boat. Disney has completely shifted from the elegance the classic 4 ships had to just how much IP they can place on the boat.

I just hope they don't go the Adventure route and only offer cruises to nowhere.
Me too, but I think that's likely how it'll be. I think the Japanese audience will be there for the Disney experience more than the itinerary. 🤷‍♂️
We're booked 3 nights on the Adventure in January (combining that with a trip to HKDL and Taiwan), it'll be the first time we take a cruise to nowhere. I'm curious to see if there will be enough on the ship to keep us entertained the whole time without port stops.

I agree! I was 'meh' on the Wish (I didn't hate it like a lot of people did, but I also didn't love it). Given that, I was a bit hesitant going on the Treasure in February. I loved the Treasure! The colors of the Grand Hall are awesome, and I loved all the theming. Coriander and Sage are a great creative addition, too. Yes, there are still some layout challenges, but I think the Treasure may be my second-favorite ship now.

We were 'meh' about the Wish too and decided to skip it. However, the theming of the Treasure caught our attention enough that we just booked it for next year. It hits a lot of the right notes for us in terms of aesthetics, IP choices (minus Marvel as a dining option), even if the layout doesn't look ideal. I'm glad to hear you loved it.

Villains Land is going into unused land behind the current park.

Villains Land taking up the back portion of Rivers of America. Rivers of America is 14 acres of space in Walt Disney World. The Cars Section is using about 6 acres of it (mostly just the area around TSI) the other 8 are for Villains Land. Nothing for Villains will be built beyond the existing Railroad Boundary. Those spaces are going to be lay down areas and potential future expansion pads. This isn’t exactly what will be built but it’s the premise based off concept art shown so far:
