NEW Disney Gift Card Deals and More

Sorry if this was discussed already, been on a trip and a bit out of the loop. Anyone have trouble using egift cards via Apple Wallet bought from Shop Disney recently? I had a lot of trouble this past week, probably 25% of the time the CM would scan my DGC from apple wallet and they'd get some sort of error on their end. At the festival booths, a few of them were able to get by it by having me go to a different cashier or trying a different DGC (I had a few). At Docking Bay she couldn't get it to work at all and was convinced I had a merch gift card and not a regular gift card...I just paid with a card as I was holding up the line and then it worked just fine the next time I used it. So weird! I've never had any issues on prior trips and it wasn't a big deal but curious if this has happened to anyone else.

Edit: I had no issues with using the GC numbers for mobile ordering or mobile checkout, seemed to be an issue with them scanning the barcode from Apple Wallet. I've been moving away from swiping physical DGCs the last couple of trips and using the barcode in AW instead.

Haven't heard anything, that would be quite disappointing as they've been so reliable! I'd suggest making your own thread here on the Budget Board for better visibility with a title of something like "Disney gc Apple Wallet issues at parks?"

Do target circle bonus awards always stipulate they can’t be used on things like Disney gift cards?

I thought mine have said that but don’t have any currently to view and can’t seem to locate that info on the target site. Thanks.

No. I regularly buy Disney gift cards to fulfill my bonuses. But I always check to make sure gift cards aren't listed as an item not allowed. Typically, if it's for cash rewards that are put on your account, gift cards work. If it's cash off your purchase, it typically doesn't.

Often, DGC will count towards your total to earn a bonus, but you can never spend Rewards on them.

Deep in the Target terms:
Target Circle Rewards cannot be redeemed for the following:

adult beverage purchases;
dairy product purchases;
purchases of prescriptions and over-the-counter items located behind the pharmacy counter;
purchases made at some partner businesses, including in-store clinics, Target Optical and Target Plus Partners;
purchases made on the Shipt app and tips for shoppers;
purchases made from Target through third-party sites such as Google Express;
purchases of Target GiftCards;
purchases of specialty gift cards and Visa, American Express and Mastercard gift cards/prepaid cards;
purchases fulfilled via email (for example, video game digital downloads and digital specialty gift cards);
taxes, bottle deposits, shipping, delivery, handling and all other fees or charges;
payment of any Target Circle Card balance, debit card cash withdrawals at checkout and payments for insufficient funds;
prior purchases; or
where otherwise prohibited by law.
Other restrictions may apply to redeeming Target Circle Rewards.

Thanks. Yeah I meant redeeming the bonus. I remember I couldn’t use the ones I had for gift cards, but wasn’t sure if that was always the case.

I did that one time and had no problems. I am not sure I even waited hours, it might have been minutes between transactions. Hopefully that is always the case!

I second this. My transactions are within minutes of each other. Mine are done in store though if it matters.

I purchased $128 in merchandise at 12:00 left store went to a nearby store than realizing that I meant to buy a Dis GC I returned to Target an hour later and purchased a $100 gift card but only my first purchase showed up on the Target Bonus and it’s been 2 days. The first purchase showed up immediately.

Does it show your DGC on the "in-store" tab under your Target order history? I wonder if it didn't track with your Circle account? Two days for an in-store purchase seems very long.

Yes it does. I thought maybe it’s now being credited toward my total for the Target Circle Bonus reward is because both purchases were made on same day.

Interesting! I know I do multiple online orders on the same day right after the previous and it delivers, but never attempted in-store. I am sorry that happened.

Anyone order a DGC off of Quill with the Chase 10% offer and have it work? Lots of datapoints that the Visa debit cards trigger it.

Yes it will qualify. It is pre discount.

Me too! Target and I seem to have issues…several months ago I posted how I ended up with a Dis GC that had not been properly activated and it took quite a few phone calls, emails, and chats before I finally got a refund and was told to just dust the card. It was a few months before I finally purchased more gift cards but now I do immediately check to make sure they are activated before I leave store and I won’t purchase gift cards online.
