Four months ago I booked a room at BW PPI for spring break so I could guarantee a room. I've just received an email that there was an issue with the room and my reservation was canceled. Now of course they are full, as many others are. My options are severely limited now. Looking for some opinions on the hotels that are still available. For this trip it's just myself and my 7 yo niece. I want to stay close to the entrance to minimize walking time for her. We'll only be there for two nights so we don't need anything fancy but I also don't want to stay in a dump. lol

Thoughts on these (or anything else)??

Close hotels with current availability:
The Anaheim Hotel
Del Sol Inn
Castle Inn & Suites (Looks very dated to me)
Grand Legacy (I've heard this can be loud)

Is there availability at

Tropicana
Howard Johnson- HOJO (this is a great kids hotel)
Higher budget- but courtyard marriot theme park entrance?

I was not a fan of castle inn and suites and would not stay there again.

We stayed at anahiem hotel and the lobby is updated and it has a huge Olympic sized pool but the room is very meh.. and cleanliness was questionable.

No experience with the others.

There is availability at HoJo but was trying to avoid so I don't have my niece begging to spend time on the water slides. lol

Appreciate your feedback on the other two. Trying not to be picky, but I am picky. :rotfl2:

Did you check BW Anaheim Plus Inn? Or Candy Cane?

I've heard the noise at Grand Legacy really depends on where your room is.

Oh-
We are booked at dessert inn and suites. Super basic but it does have good reviews and I've asked around the boards and Facebook groups and in general most have been satisfied and say it's clean.

Candy Cane seems a bit far for my niece, but it's on my list.
All the BW locations are booked for our dates, plus they're on my **** list now. lol

I'll check out that hotel.

What do we think of Park Vue? They have availability.

Haven't stayed there but I've never heard bad things about it. It's super close.. same at BWPPI

We have stayed at Grand Legacy a number of times and have had no issues with noise, You could probably request a room in the back just to be sure. Candy Cane is not far and it has it's own dedicated shuttle. Great expanded continental breakfast.

We stayed at the Castle Inn this past December. It was dated but very clean and the staff was great. The walk wasn't bad at all.

To give you more options that may be a good quality/value have you looked into staying near the Toy Story lot and just doing the bus from there to/from the parks? We do that when we can't stay on property and it's been a good option to have. There are some hotels that you can walk to the bus/security at the Toy Story lot in just a few min and then it's a short bus ride into the parks.

We have stayed at the Park Vue, it's been quite a few years but the location is super super close. It was clean and I think fairly quiet.

Candy Cane and HoJo are approx the same distance but just in opposite directions. Candy Cane Inn you wouldn't have to cross the street, that's about the only difference.

COMPLETELY sucks about BWPPI :(

I have only heard GOOD review for the ParkVue. BOOK IT!!!

I stay at the Desert Inn & Suites and I have always been satisfied with my stay. I have no interested in their breakfast options so can't comment on that.
I usually book a year in advance for the lowest rate. I will stay there again.

At least you found out about the cancellation before you arrived in their lobby..

Good luck getting a room.
Hope you have a fine time in the parks!!

Hello ColoradoLime,
You might want to look at Yelp and read some of the Anaheim hotel reviews before you choose an alternative hotel. Best Western is known for cancelling reservations at their hotels. I know this because when my family stayed at a Best Western once we thought we had a good deal on our room but then the manager called us and said that he couldn't honor the deal and so my dad had to talk to the manager the next day and he told Dad to call Best Western customer service and they were no help. But we were able to find a room at another hotel and we were happy. What I recommend you to do is to call the Best Western Park Place Inn directly and find out what exactly is happening there that caused your sudden cancellation. Maybe they are closed for renovation?
Good Luck and hope you and your niece have a great trip

Hi ColoradoLime, It's Dodger again,
You might want to try the Super 8 Motel by the Disneyland entrance and I looked at the Yelp reviews for it and it looks alright but you and your niece can walk to Disneyland's main entrance easily and it's a great value of all the Anaheim motels. Why not give this Super 8 a call and ask if they are having any deals or Spring Break and see what you can find out and if you learn anything please let me know
Glad to be helpful to you,
Dodger

Check out Anaheim Park Tourist on YouTube-they do reviews of all the hotels and quite often a walking video to show you how far it is to the gates. Plus Crystal is on here and really nice and helpful!
We stayed Candy Cane and are going back later this year-very clean , lovely rooms and grounds, staff are so friendly and helpful and its free breakfast and parking. Plus the trolley goes once an hour and is a lovely ride, especially at the end of the day!

If proximity to the parks is the priority and Park Vue Inn works with your budget, it would be a good choice. It's right at the crosswalk, similar to BW, and is clean with parking included. It is basic, but less basic than Desert Inn & Suites, which is also in the same location.

I've been booking more at Candy Cane Inn as I get better pricing than the BWs and PVI. When comparing, just note that CCI's website shows the full cost with taxes, etc. when searching, so at first glance it may seem higher. Their rooms are more recently renovated and I like that there's no carpet and the property just has a lovely vibe. For us it's a 10-minute walk (15 if we're super tired haha), and I appreciate the option to take their trolley if we really are beat. But I've stayed at Park Vue many times and wouldn't hesitate to book again, especially if I wanted to be near the crosswalk.

Just FYI Candy Cane Inn has a great shuttle. It's free and runs all day.

Hello ColoradoLime,
Did you happen to call the Super 8 Motel by the Disneyland entrance today and ask them for any Spring Break discounts? I am curious to know what you found out? Hope you have a really fun trip
