Getting ready to book first rooms as members of DVC. We are going to book OKW for an adult get-a-way the first week of October and book family trip to our home resort at VB for last week in January next year. We will be booking studio at OKW and want to know what to ask for. At VB I am deciding between deluxe inn with ocean view or studio. Any suggestions on that? Thanx for the info.

get the deluxe inn room - the view of the ocean is never guaranteed - but you get a better chance with the inn rooms.

OKW has views of golf, water and woods - I ask for a water view (non-swimming pool), near a bus stop, non-smoking. But it depends upon what you want - alot of people want to be near the HH (Hospitality House - where you check in, the restuarants, shop, exercise room, community hall, basketball & tennis court, and the main swimming pool are here).

We just spent this past weekend in an Ocean-View Inn Room at Vero.

The Ocean-View Inn Room is going to have two queen beds, while the studio has 1 bed and a sleeper sofa. For an extended stay - it may be nice to have the sofa to fold up and make more "living area."

The Inn Room has a table and two chairs, plus the two chairs out on the balcony. They are all located in the Main building, while the studios are all out in the "villa buildings."

The Inn Room - if you ask and receive an upper-floor room, is going to have a GREAT view of the ocean. An ocean view is not guaranteed in a studio.

For us? We've also done the Inn Room - we just love that view.

Both rooms will have the microwave, mini-fridge, and sink.

Enjoy your membership - we just added on at Vero this past July - but have visited several times. It's a great resort!

At OKW it really depends on your personal preferences, I haven't had a bad room there. If you want to be near the first bus stop on the resorts route, request near Peninsular Road bus stop. Most villas have a golf course or pool view. Depending on bldg configuration, there are studios on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd floor. Request which would be most comfortable for you. However, by requesting 1st floor you might get assigned a wheelchair room (no tub, wheel-in shower). Personally, I try to avoid Bldg 20, 51 & 52 as those are bus turn around areas. If you are assigned bldg 20, I'd park near to bldg 21, that way your car isn't in danger of a 'bus strike'. Rare, but accidents do happen.

If you want to be near a quiet pool Turtle Pond has a snack bar with that pool, the other quiet pools do not. If you'll be taking to boat to DTD and want to be near Olivia's restaurant, request to be near Hospitality House.

Hope this helps.
