As per Universal's Facebook account...

Several months ago, we decided not to renew the lease for NBA City so we could create an exciting, new concept for that space. We'll announce the new concept soon – and it will join all the other great experiences we’ve opened at CityWalk. NBA City closes in late August.

Is NBA City a good place to eat? We've never eaten there....and sounds like we better do so soon before it is gone.

Never cared to eat there. That's been rumored on the chopping block for a while now.

i will miss NBA City

i have eaten there on all my past visits.
it is one place where they never make a solo diner feel uncomfortable eating alone.

it's been on my list of go to places when i don't know exactly what i feel like eating that day.

i always was given a full booth, never in one of the tables on the floor.

i enjoyed about everything they had on the menu.
check out the present menu.
maybe something on it will catch your eye.
if nothing doesn't, there are other places in city walk you might like better.

It is worth eating in before it closes if you get the chance.........ribs were lush! And cocktails like a lot of places there were excellent!

happy hour there was fun, standard but reliable food offerings at a decent price, will miss it at Universal.

Interesting to see it's moving down the road. anybody want to bet the menu costs skyrocket & it'll be difficult to walk up without an ADR?:rolleyes2

always liked nba city. my family will miss it. oh, and we will miss putting our hands in the basketballs surrounding the place.

Oh that's right, my kids love putting their hands on the basketballs as we walk by there. Better get it in one more time....one last time!

We enjoyed the upstairs bar; it was always a nice, quiet place for a drink during happy hour. Also enjoyed playing pop-shot basketball with the free tokens they give AP holders!

Ate there once. IThe food was good, but not to the degree where I would go out of my way to make sure I went. Not a big NBA fan anyway and if I eat outside the parks, there is a good Italian place near the entrance or if I want a burger type place I go to Hard Rock. I will wait to see what replaces it before I can tell if it's a good/bad thing.

My son is broken hearted at the news....we were supposed to return there for a meal at Christmas.

He is a huge NBA fan, was the captain and MVP of his high school basketball team, and lives and breathes basketball. Being such a super-fan, he was always bewildered as to why the place wasn't packed :rotfl: .

The rumor going around a couple of months ago was Cheesecake Factory replacing it.I'm not sure if I like a Cheesecake there,it's a solid chain where everyone can find something to eat but it's not something unique,it's a mall restaurant,Citywalk deserves something more unique.Again just a rumor but lately all these rumors have been happening so I don't know. There's another Cheesecake about 5 miles away in the Mall at Millenia and another one in Winter Park,I guess it's possible they could do it but I rather them go with a unique concept, but then again Disney is getting away from unique concepts and going with mall stores at DTD.

While I like the Cheesecake Factory here at home, I am surprised if this is true as it isn't a vacation kind of place. Some place I would go to while on vacation.

We never ate here..I am not surprised to hear it is going, that was rumored for quite awhile

I wouldn't be surprised if Cheesecake Factory replaced NBA - at DLR in Anaheim - Cheesecake Factory is in a small mall called Garden Walk which is within walking distance of Disneyland - Bubba Gump is also at Garden Walk along with one or two other 'vacation' type restaurants. For us visitors from overseas, Cheescake Factory is a vacation restaurant and I bet it would do well on Citywalk.

That's why I wouldn't be surprised either as Universal gets a lot of international visitors, maybe even a higher percentage than Disney and Cheesecake factory isn't as common to them. For me on the other hand,I have like 7 within an hour drive of my house.

That's so true.....we hear loads of Brits rave about the CF.....it definitely is a vacation restaurant for lots of people outside of the U.S. and yep it would do well in Citywalk.

I would prefer something else to replace NBA as we go to Mall at Millenia a lot during our visits so DS gets his dessert there....he wouldn't complain though....lol

i've been to the CF before and never understood the love that people have for that place.

i can see tourists doing CF at least once for the novelty of it.
don't see it as a place that peeps will repeat everytime.

The best I can tell, the Cheescake Factory and WWE rumors going around as NBA replacements are both false. It'll be a new Universal developed thing, most likely.
