Hello Out There From Disney Land,
My apologies for not having posted since after the New Year, BUT I've been very busy with this crazy little thing called Life--including, but not limited to, preparing for a week from tonight when my Mom will be having Vascular Surgery--her 2nd--in Savannah, Georgia, at 7 A.M. ET Wednesday Morning, January 29, and spending a week from tonight recuperating in the Hospital from the said surgery, during which time I'll be holding down the fort at home alone while my Dad accompanies her and spends the night with her, and as a family, we could use all the Prayers in the world sent for next week's event.
With THAT out of the way, on another, more lighter note, I'd like to discuss one of my favorite Genres of TV Programming: Game Shows.
Growing up in my hometown an Hour from Savannah, I've always considered myself as long as I can remember a life-long Avid Game Show Watcher, even playing various Gametek NES Video Game Adaptations on Nintendo NES, Sega Genesis, and Playstation One among others of "Wheel of Jeopardy!" (my personal in-joke name for my fav current TV Game Shows "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" due to both shows being created by the same man, former TV talk-show host Merv Griffin); I also enjoy watching every Sunday night on my local Savannah TV station WJCL-TV by way of the ABC Television Network Prime-Time Network TV's Longest-Running Game Show in Prime-Time Currently in its 35th Combined Season with current host Alfonso Ribeiro--you guessed it: "America's Funniest Home Videos."
tbh I've always, even as a young-un, enjoyed the unique concept of "America's Funniest Home Videos" as a Game Show, with 3 Contestants per show every Sunday night competing against each other for a weekly Grand Prize of $10,000 ($20,000 as of 2022) by sending in their funniest moments ever caught on film, with the weekly Grand Prize winners competing against each other for an additional $100,000 Grand Prize every 3 months (twice yearly in recent years since the show's 2001 revival).
A Spin-Off Game Show, "America's Funniest People," was quickly created after Vin Di Bona realized soon after it debuted that MANY of the initial potential Contestants submitted set-up clips as opposed to spontaneous and unrehearsed moments caught on film.
I also enjoy, as far as Game Shows are concerned, the Classics like "Match Game," "Pyramid," "Family Feud" and more, and my apologies for posting a bit too soon earlier before I was ready--my cat did so before I was ready.
