Geez. You'd think I could figure this stuff out, but I guess not...

Got my second holes done about 2 months ago. Changed the earrings a week or so ago, put in 14K studs, and now one of the holes is infected. It was itching like crazy this morning, so I took out the earring to clean it, and there was some gunky whiteish brown stuff on the back. There is a ball of what I guess is the same infection-puss like stuff in my earlobe. I'm soaking the earrings to get them clean, but what do I do now? I had this trouble with my first holes, but that was about 15 years ago, and I don't remember what I did. DH said I should squeeze the stuff out of it, but I don't know....I did try putting the piercer stud back in, and it went through with no problem, and I took it back out because of the infection, but I don't want to lose the hole if I don't have to.

Can anyone help me? Thanks

I think you just need to keep using the ear cleaner and keep your ear clean also. I don't remember much after that.

If it is real bad, call your doc.

I keep soaking the earlobe with alcohol on a cotton ball a few times a day, keep cleaning the earring post with alcohol a few times a day too. I'd put some bacitracin on the earlobe, and also spread it on the earring post before you put the earring back in.

It should clear up. The ball thing in your ealrobe may not be pus, but it may be a little keloid scar. My pierce holes have that.
