Honestly, it just never ends.

Yesterday I woke up and as I was getting ready for work, I kept feeling like I had something in my eye. After about 3 hours of trying to clear it out, I realized that maybe something else was going on. I looked at my lower lid a million times and just couldn't find a bump or pimple or anything on it.

I woke up this morning and it felt better, but later on I could feel it again. I also had a strange headache for some reason and left work early. When I got home, I *really* examined my eye on the white part, just below my iris I could see a little white bump. I called the optometrist I go to and they were able to get me in. He said it was a conjunctival cyst or retention cyst. It is fluid-filled. In fact I have four of them. Most people don't even know they have them but one of the four hits right up against my lid margin which is why I can feel it. It might go away on its own (doubtful, he said) or I can go to an opthamologist and have it drained. It is really only the size of a grain of sand but I can feel it CONSTANTLY.

I swear, every week it's something new.

I get cysts allll the time. Its because I'm bad and don't always take my eye make-up off before bed. Just put a hot compress on it (like a washcloth soaked in really hot water -- let it cool enough so that you don't burn your skin) for 10 minutes a few times a day. They go away soon enough and are usually only annoying the first day if you do the hot compress thing.

Good luck!

No this is not the same thing. I've had what you are talking about. They occur on the inner part of the eyelids (like styes). This one is actually on my eyeball.

Oh, I misread I thought it was just bumping your eye! Did the doc say that maybe the hot compress might help? I can't see it hurting, but I don't know much about eyes (I don't wear glasses/contacts so I see an opthamologist once a blue moon).

No, he told me there was nothing that I could do but use a lubricant drop to make the friction feel less noticeable.

Try the eye drops. That should ease the irritation. I have tons of eye problems and there usually is nothing anyone can do but wait. That has to be the most frustrating thing any doctor can say!

YUCK, my youngest DD (3) has been fighting them since December. She had 4 of them and only 2 are left. It is a slow process.....

Are they on her eyeball or on the lid? Mine is on the actual white part of my eyeball and, so far, can't find anyone who has had this.

Her eyelids. Her Ped Optho (?) has tried many things (had 4 at a time over both eyes) to try to get rid of them FINALLY when surgery date was here they started to get better so we have put it off. It is a very slow road and she said she can get many more over her life. :guilty:

Yes, I know people are prone to these types of things. Usually the glands keep getting blocked and then they fill with bacteria.

Hi Christine, I am so sorry you had this. Did it ever get resolved? I have the same thing and it’s impossible to find information online or doctors to treat it :(
