My goodness does Lysol original stink, do any disinfectants not reek?

I forgot how much original Lysol stinks and now I remember.

New puppy for Christmas means freezing temps means a house training station in the garage. So many wee pads, so many misses so while I spot clean with pop up unscented compostable clorox wipes I also disinfect about 7X10 of the garage with a water disinfectant and a broom that I air out and fan dry once a week or so. I foolishly decided to go old school and my garage now stinks to high heaven like every Dr office and gymnasium of my entire childhood :crazy2:

Pondering what to get instead because I have been airing out the garage all day and can't take this particular disinfectant smell, it is soooooooo strong

I would personally stick with some sort of anti-bacterial spray rather than anything that just covers up the smell…

I buy Mr. Clean and mix 1/2 of a small spray bottle with Mr. Clean and 1/2 water. Blot the accident with paper towels, then spray the spot with the Mr Clean solution and wipe up. They’re only puppies for such a short time!

Puppy accidents need enzyme cleaners. Like Nature's Miracle.

I do have tNatures Miracle, it is the best for inside but thankfully no carpets in this place so a towel, then dish soap followed by Bono mop is working, although I now have 5 mop pads to swap them out. The accidents in the garage get cleaned immediately. I'm only using disinfectant because there might be little invisible splatter spots in the general vicinity and I don''t want germs to grown on it that can make her or anyone else sick. The Lysol definitely kills germs like I want it to do but it smells really strong, so glad I didn't use this stuff inside - yikes.

Thank goodness!

I'll pick up a bunch of these to try for next time, and the time after that, and the time after that :dogdance:

I have a similar issue but now it's an old dog using puppy pads just in case, and he has an occasional accident. I also have cats.

Chlorox makes this product: https://www.target.com/p/clorox-uri...spray-bottle---32-fl-oz--no-aasa/-/A-50750825

It's the cheapest best product I've found. I wipe up, spray and saturate, wipe up and then finally use soap and water a bit later.

Edit: sorry, I don't know how to make the lysol smell leave. Probably time.

My dogs have used pee pads all of their life. One of them has skin issues and cleaners make him itchy. I use a vinegar and water mixture to mop my floors. The smell dissipates very quickly. You might ask your veterinarian to suggest a cleaner that would be safe around your puppy. Most of the commercial cleaners are not safe around pets, especially for cleaning floors, because the cleaner will get on their paws and then they lick it off.

We use Amway's Pursue disinfectant. No smell for the liquid (the spray has some kind of "fresh laundry day" smell), and it works well on the floor and in the laundry.

My mom used to use Lysol disinfectant in our house but now she uses Glade products and she has been a Glade fan for a long time and the only time we buy and use Lysol is when we clean our bathtub and Lysol is good for cleaning bathtubs. One product you should look for at your store is Mr. Clean with Gain and my mom first saw the commercial for it and wanted to try it and so she bought it and it really works. Another product you can try is Out spray and it comes in cat formula or dog formula and you spray it on things like furniture to get pet smells out and it really works and you can buy it at either Petco or Petsmart and get the dog formula of Out spray and try it out and see if it works for you
Glad to be helpful LuvOrlando
