Sacramento, CA I am paying $209/hr for a 4 man crew and truck for a local move on Friday. Plus something per mile I can't remember off the top of my head. Wasn't anything large.

$209/hr for a 4-man crew sounds pretty reasonable for a local move in Sacramento! When I moved a couple of years ago, I went with a company that charged a bit more but offered a flat rate, which helped me budget better. They were super efficient and got everything done quickly.

I know it's been a while, but Moving costs can be all over the place. Getting quotes from a few locations is an excellent idea to see what's out there. From my experience, costs depend a lot on the size of your move and the distance.

When my family moved from our old house in 2018 we hired a moving crew and they were able to move our stuff very swiftly and we then got a U-Haul to put the rest of our things in a storage locker. Then when we moved to our house we just rented another U-Haul and got our stuff out of the storage locker and moved our furniture and other stuff in the house ourselves and it took three days but we managed to do it all. I would have to say that if anyone is moving the best thing to do is to look up any good moving crews and they can save you a lot of money without having to worry about a stressful move
