Monsters replace Muppets replace Aerosmith

The Muppets are moving over a couple streets in Hollywood Studios!

Disney officially announced that 3D Vision will be removed to make room for Monsters Inc and Rockin Roller Coaster will be re-themed as a Muppets attraction.

If they were going to change RNRC to Muppets they should have done it before.
Instead they scrapped the idea because no one actually wanted it so why do it now? It better be because they have better ideas than before.

Don't get me wrong I love the Muppets but I love them in Muppet Vision 3D.
Which by the way they kinda made it sound like that attraction was moving and then all the sudden it was like yeah Muppets will "move" taking over RNRC.
You could have shifted the entire 3D show somewhere else too and made it a "Muppets Land".

I like the Monster's Inc Door Ride idea but am not thrilled about forcing Muppets out. I mean we knew it was coming but yet Disney always tries to cover things up even though the renderings looked like the Muppets area.... we aren't stupid.

Also let's give an ACTUAL timeline for closures. I'm sure they know already. Because if they end up closing in say March well that's NOT enough time to catch them if you're not going until August...

Happy for the Rock n Roller coaster retheme. That is long overdue and I didn’t have that announcement on my bingo card.

Don’t understand Monsters inc going into that area instead of Animation Courtyard. This is also another family friendly attraction (Muppets 3D) lost in a park that is heavy on thrill rides. Edit: Monsters area will have a theatre show as well so it’s a swap instead of a loss.

This is honestly best case scenario (who gives a flying funnel cake about Aerosmith these days). I am also hoping the “creative” solution to preserving Muppet Vision*3D is simply relocating it to the One Man’s Dream theatre or similar.

So RNRC is going to be rethemed with the Muppets and right next door is going to be the Disney Villains Dynamic Stage Show? Interesting choice.

I like all of this news though...very excited for a new ride and Monsters Inc area!

Honestly I love this. Disney fans are always a tough sell on anything new - we're notoriously nostalgic. And while I do love Muppet Vision and am saddened by its loss, I think it's high time to give the IP some new life. I LOVE the Muppets and I often feel like they're lost in DHS, because the only Muppets attraction is so dated. Of course, I'd have loved to have BOTH, but I'm also really excited for Monsters Inc. so I see it as an overall win.

As far as losing Aerosmith, I couldn't care less. I don't NOT like Aerosmith, but again, the preshow is super dated and I also don't see Aerosmith as being at all "Disney." The Muppets seem like a PERFECT fit.

I'll certainly wait to see the final product in a couple years, but I'm liking the news with these changes. Muppets 3D was fun, but old and stale. Same with RnR. Time to change it up a bit and make it fun and more interesting again.

If there is one thing I don’t need in life it is a muppets themed rollercoaster. Really upset about this retheme.

Was really hoping to see Monsters go in Animation Courtyard, but that's not happening. The whole muppets area has been neglected for a long time, but sad to see the show go.
Muppets taking over RnRC could be fun. Hopefully they do it well.
Still wonder what they will do with animation courtyard. That is a large space with not a lot there.

No, we’re losing Muppets… how many of those who see the show now will want to… or be able to ride RNRC? I don’t/can’t ride it now… will never ride in the future. So it is a loss for me.

And I’m sure the crowd that loved Aerosmith will be delighted with Muppets as a suitable replacement… cause it’s the same audience, right??? lol
