Heading to WDW in November and looked into the "discount" MMB tickets. Turns out they are actually more expensive then 3rd party websites, and also don't include a weekend day.
Isn't that what 5-day weekday ticket means? That is what is advertised and as far as discounts they don't advertise that and they simply state "Specially Priced" unfortunately for the dates you are going the tickets are "Specially Priced" higher but others are "Specially Priced" lower. You just have to look at the chart if it doesn't work or you need weekends by all means go a different route.

Fantastic word smithing. Specially priced higher. Amazing.

They do include a waterpark day. Did you account for that at all?

I haven’t looked close enough at them as my DD has decided to only do two day tickets for their upcoming trip.

ETA: I just checked for the March dates. It would be $19 per ticket cheaper and give them a water park day. So, if they wanted more park days it would be off benefit…not a ton but some!

Guess it is really trip dependent!

Hmmm, we have APs expiring next month, and the photopass add-on is on my AP. We bought MMB on DH’s account and have a trip starting next week. It is likely we visit WDW later this year without APs and we would want to use the MMB Memory Maker that trip.

Is there anything we should do to avoid accidentally activating it?
I called Disney Photopass with exactly the same question. When you're on your trip next week, look to see if your photos have watermarks. If no watermarks, your active AP Memory Maker is still good and doing what it's supposed to. If you have a watermark and the app asks if you want to activate Memory Maker, go visit a Photopass desk in the park so they can help you assign Memory Makers correctly. The new Memory Maker won't self-activate, which is what I was concerned about. If you guys have separate MDE accounts, just download the photos from next week's trip on your account, and you shouldn't have any issues with the new Memory Maker.

Thank you so much! We do have separate MDE accounts and Ill be sure to remind him not to activate anything if he sees watermarks- we should be able to fully access the pictures from my account.

Does anyone know if the character meet and greet is the same character every day or does it change? We are going the first week of February and was just wondering what to expect. Thanks!

That someone doesn’t even have to be real.
  • I see all my friends in the list, but I can not reassign it to everyone.
  • And I'm not sure what differentiates them
  • Some I can reassign have active tickets, but others don't
  • I cannot reassign to anyone who does not have an active ticket
And now I'm wondering, if you reassign it, can it be assigned back to you??
How do you reassign the memory maker? I’m not even clear on the difference between MM and photopass
This is where I found it:
  • Logged into the website
  • My Plans, Reservations and Tickets
  • Tickets, Passes and Memory Maker
  • Memory Maker Purchases
    • Reassign Memory Maker

Looking at mine and with the trip coming up where it will be used, the only person, my niece, that it would allow me to reassign it to has an active ticket (incredipass) and is also on the reservation. My DD also has an active ticket but is not on any reservations at present time. In any event I don't have an intention to reassign it.

They explain it like this:
At Walt Disney World, Disney PhotoPass Service takes your pictures and Memory Maker is one of your options to pay for them.

Memory Maker is a package they offer so you can download them without watermarks -
  • Memory Maker One Day includes all your photos and videos from one day of your choosing.
  • Memory Maker includes all your photos and videos from your vacation. Save $25 when you purchase Memory Maker at least 3 days prior to your visit.
You can add other things on too, like buy a hardcopy of your photos on a thumb-drive, or buy a ‘Capture your Moment’ photo session but you’ll still also need paid access to download those photos.

It can be confusing especially as it keeps getting more complicated.

The ability to download the photos used to come with APs but is now sold separately at a reduced price. The AP add-on package they call Photopass. If you buy the 1 day, 1 trip, or MMB package, they call those Memory Maker. Sometimes it is redundant and already included with something else, like our Jollywood Nights tickets included all the downloads that evening, the special in-park shots and the effects in the App. But there’s still other things that nobody gets unless you buy LLs that day.

I love the pictures we’ve collected over the years so still willing to buy it even if confusing lol.

I am confused. I am a new AP holder and I added the PhotoPass download option. I also have MMB with Memory Maker. Do I care about the MMB Memory Maker, does it give me something I don’t already have with the AP add on? Thanks for any guidance you have!

Reassign the Memory maker to someone who is not going on the upcoming trip.
You can just reassign it to anyone? So if you already have an AP with the photo option and then get MMB, you could gift the 30 day one that comes with MMB? I know you could just add them to your friends and family amd share the AP one but then you have access to all of their pictures, which they might not want.

Well I don’t know the exact criteria but when I go to reassign I can only select 1 other person from my party - the rest is not selectable. None of us currently holds any tickets or AP’s

Wow ty … that helps. So with photo pass I wouldn’t be able to print out hard copies of photos but could download them? For us Photopass with our AP is like $84 and we could get MM thru the MMB for $99 Seems like a no brainer but honestly I’m still not sure …

I have the same question.

Does Memory Maker add anything at all to the Photopass Downloads associated with an AP?

My assumption is that it does not.

No it does not but if your AP expires in the benefit year and you choose not to renew you would have it for a trip.

For example if your pass expires in June but you are going to take a trip during the Christmas block out dates you could activate it for that trip.

I'm completely new to Photopass/Maemory Maker. The DL tickets I bought with MMB come with Photopass. Is this different than WDW and what am I actually getting with this perk? I thought I would get free downloaded photos of any that were taken each day, but from the conversation, I question that now.
