Membership Magic Beyond

Did you ever get an email confirmation. The same thing happened to me around 3 pm, so I opened a chat message and he said their system has had trouble with the emails but I'd get one. I told him I'd call back tomorrow if I don't get an email.
I never did get one and I bought right at 8 am this morning. I called and spoke to Member Services and she said they won't be able to see if I have the benefit or not until January and that I should see if I get an e-mail today (which I didn't) and call back tomorrow if I don't. She said that the charge on my credit card (which says DVC Diamond) will "fall away" if it didn't go through. So basically, she couldn't really tell me anything.

Did you ever get your e-mail?

1. I didn’t want to buy it “first thing” to admit to Disney it was a good idea, but I did. Like others, just wanted to check it off and had my Gift Cards still handy from our trip. OTUP is the big reason for me.

2. While I saw the post about “what if my DVC-MB (or whatever) is not showing in my app, call MS. I removed and reinstalled my “card” and it still just says DVC-Y. Not worried, don’t need anytime soon and thinking that will appear on Jan 12 but anyone else’s mileage vary on this?

3. So I have typically just created a dummy reservation when purchasing OTUP and modified what I needed it to. Has anyone had luck with MS just applying them to an existing (7 mo) reservation to free up points? If not, I have read they have since fixed cancelling a reservation and being able to see the points so I could modify. Any insight is always greatly appreciated.

4. Someone earned their Holliday bonus in the DVC division for this money printing idea.

Disney will not sell them unless you are making a reservation.

I am pretty sure it is because of the whole can’t pay for a transfer of points language.

When they sell them to you as part of a reservation, it’s a slight difference because you are not paying just for points but paying for a reservation.

Bought it around 8:30 am Central time and got my email about 10 minutes later. going the end of April with one of my grandsons on his first visit and wanted photos mainly and hopefully get into the lounge faster.

But then if you cancel it, they just sit there in the account?

Yes, they will be in your account if you have canceled the reservation made with the one time use points. You should see a contract as a home resort when booking a reservation it’s possible that they give you one time use points and your same resort that you own but usually it’s a different resort when making your new reservation at the seven months out, you can then select that contract to use. I always like to use that contract first, but due to things in the back of it’s probably not necessary as banked borrowed and one time used points are always used first, regardless of which order you pick the contract

I haven't received an email as of Wednesday morning so it looks like I will be calling in as well today. I did take a screen shot of the transaction on my gift card that also shows my gift card number and a DVC purchase.

If you go to the page to purchase again, it will show if you have bought MMB or not. If the page shows an activations date of January 12th and a transaction date then you are good to go. If you are able to purchase again then you need to do so because the system haven’t registered your purchase.

Yesterday it was going to let me purchase again but my gift card said my balance was $99.00 less so that's when I stopped and opened a chat.

I apologize in advance for not reading all 70 pages, so I'm not sure if this question came up already - does only the member who purchased MMB get the lounge priority? or anyone on the same membership? cause it doesn't make sense for more than one person per membership to buy this.

the T&C says that the member + 4 guests will get the lounge priority access. As I understand the member who purchases MMB need to be present when going to the lounge.

I bought it, too! Looking forward to the priority lounge access at DL (my son is neurodivergent, and having the lounge as a respite space has been so helpful), possibly the weekday ticket for WDW, and likely buying 24 OTU points for a one night bonus stay at VDH.

We are an interesting use case for the WDW weekday ticket next year. We are doing two weekend cruises (Fri-Mon) with the time in between spent at WDW (M-Th), and the remaining weekday on the ticket we can use before or after the cruises. I'm still on the fence about an AP vs the special ticket, though.
The AP will get you discounts, especially on ADR's. I have given up AP's but if I had enough extra points I might do that rather than rent the points. Calculator needed LOL!

Did anyone put it on a credit card like Chase Sapphire and see if it codes as travel? I decided to put it on my DH’s Disney Visa as we just opened one in his name (so he gets $400 and I get $100 referral) and need to meet the initial spend requirement for the sign-on bonuses. Merchant type says “timeshares” so that makes me hopeful that in the future I can put it on my Sapphire for x3 back instead of x2.
