Membership Magic Beyond

So I have an AP that has photopass that doesn't expire until May. When I renew I don't want to add photopass if I can get it free for 30 days. How is the system going to keep my 30 days from activating while on my upcoming January trip?
Were you going to add it back eventually? I'm assuming it is like upgrading your tickets to a hopper where you upgrade on day 4 but you pay based on day 1 so you may have just gotten it in the first place.

I was hoping to not need it since I signed up for this. So later 2025 or early 2026 I use my 30 days included photos.

So, the “discounted” tickets are about the same price as a third party website. Thanks for the opportunity to pay $99 to access those still ridiculous price points DVC!

And the idea there would be a cap on this is laughable. They want every member who can purchase. To purchase.
Just because it is the same as third party tickets on SOME days does not make it the case for ALL days.

The details matter.

I think the only way different owners can get the benefits if they have multiple UYs..

For example, we have three..DH and I own June and Dec UY…August UY is owned by us and our three adult kids.

If I buy, I can get the deal for up to 24 points…so I do it on my June UY. I think if my DD decided to buy…since she is a different household….she should be able to unlock the deal for the 24 points under her membership which is the Aug UY one.

If we both bought and wanted to take advantage, it wouldn’t all of a sudden allow us 48 points in the Aug UY, because the limit of 24 per membership per UY has not changed.

I just called MS and asked about this because we also have 2 use years. My question was as follows:

suppose I want to buy 24 points in each of my memberships - is the MMB benefit tied to the use year (so I would have to buy it twice, once for each use year) or tied to the member (in which case my wife perhaps could pay the second benefit). The rep didn't know, put me on hold for 30-40 minutes and basically said you pay once and can add up to 24 points it to each of your use years.

Like I said earlier in this thread - I tend to not trust new programs, both due to inconsistent answers and due to IT glitches, so take it for what it's worth... Would be nice if it ended up that way - would definitely be a nice benefit to multiple memberships.

I agree we are going to have to wait until someone with more than one UY gets the BOGO free special in both.

We do know we can always buy 24 OTU points in each membership…but I have my doubts at one person who buys will unlock the special in each UY.

As I mentioned earlier, it won’t be me doing it but I hope someone does!!

Since I’ve been lucky enough to even buy into the program as an international owner I’m glad if I can get it just once.

BUT if it works once I’m definitely gonna try for another of my memberships.

I bought it, too! Looking forward to the priority lounge access at DL (my son is neurodivergent, and having the lounge as a respite space has been so helpful), possibly the weekday ticket for WDW, and likely buying 24 OTU points for a one night bonus stay at VDH.

We are an interesting use case for the WDW weekday ticket next year. We are doing two weekend cruises (Fri-Mon) with the time in between spent at WDW (M-Th), and the remaining weekday on the ticket we can use before or after the cruises. I'm still on the fence about an AP vs the special ticket, though.

I'm in a similar situation. I have an AP with photopass that expires in late January, and I have a WDW trip planned that goes through the last day that my AP is valid. I'm not planning on renewing my AP; I'll buy a new one much later in 2025.

If I can make the MMB Memory Maker option work, maybe I won't need the photopass option for my next AP? But I don't want it to use my MMB Memory Maker in January when my AP has photopass. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I need to set my expectations low for Disney IT to have things just work right.

I bought the new membership just to see what it is all about for the year.

I do find being able to use points to buy an AP interesting. It is not as bad of a deal as I thought it was. A Sorcerer Pass costs $1149 with FL sales tax which is about $15.32 a point (costs 75 points).

A renewal is $989 with FL sales tax, so about $15.22 a point (costs 65 points).

This is useful for owners who have extra points that might expire. One of our kids does not have a matching expiration date for her pass since she got her pass when she turned 3. I was not looking forward to spending over $1k on her pass when we all still have active ones, so I might just use points to buy it. Then I don't have to plan for that over $1k expense.

Renting is not a fun idea to me, so I like having more options for how to use my points within the Disney bubble. It also plays into the idea of buying DVC. You pay the big bucks up front for future vacations. The biggest cost of future vacations are your room and park tickets. We pretty much always get AP's so this is helpful for making the immediate cost of vacation feel like it costs less in that moment.

Although, I don't think that this should be hidden behind a yearly fee. These perks should just be included in blue card perks, but Disney is always going to try to get more money out of people.

Interesting factoid:
I purchased MMB earlier today and just checked my credit card statement - sure enough it's coded as DVC Diamond Member. I guess they only renamed it in the brochures....

Now I find myself needing some extra points for a booking next year, so definitely getting this now.

I did not. Shoot. Now I will have to call.
Did you ever get an email confirmation. The same thing happened to me around 3 pm, so I opened a chat message and he said their system has had trouble with the emails but I'd get one. I told him I'd call back tomorrow if I don't get an email.

I noticed it too. Forget white vs. blue; we're diamond! "Diamond" has a nicer flow to it than "DVC Y" or "DVC ND".

Anyone have a price comparison for the 5 day ticket discount compared to regular price? Is it really saving much?

It depends on your dates.

There is a large document with dates and prices.
Go to disneyworld.com and pretend to buy for your dates and compare.

Mine are about 10% off for spring break others state the savings are only 1%
You would also have to factor in the free water park day that you get if you were to use it.
Also as others pointed out these are weekday only where as the ones on disneyworld.com would be able to be used on the weekends.

1. I didn’t want to buy it “first thing” to admit to Disney it was a good idea, but I did. Like others, just wanted to check it off and had my Gift Cards still handy from our trip. OTUP is the big reason for me.

2. While I saw the post about “what if my DVC-MB (or whatever) is not showing in my app, call MS. I removed and reinstalled my “card” and it still just says DVC-Y. Not worried, don’t need anytime soon and thinking that will appear on Jan 12 but anyone else’s mileage vary on this?

3. So I have typically just created a dummy reservation when purchasing OTUP and modified what I needed it to. Has anyone had luck with MS just applying them to an existing (7 mo) reservation to free up points? If not, I have read they have since fixed cancelling a reservation and being able to see the points so I could modify. Any insight is always greatly appreciated.

4. Someone earned their Holliday bonus in the DVC division for this money printing idea.
