Membership Magic Beyond

I just find it a bit silly that they are offering discounts as part of a paid program that are worse than deals you can get through third party sellers without any sort of membership. 5 day park hopper ticket from https://www.boardwalkticketing.com/walt-disney-world-tickets is $786 for the same 2/17 start date I mentioned a few posts up. Cheaper ticket, allows weekends, and doesn't require MM Beyond

Why even include it if it's not actually a deal? Making graphics, writing the fine print, making the price tables, etc. Just why? Wasted time and effort all around

If this “insults” people, then IMO they need to get thicker skin.

Disney is a for profit publicly traded company. They offer products and services. You can choose to use those products and services or not to.
I'm not offended and crying in the corner because Disney is being mean.

I'm insulted that someone at Disney assumes that some of us may be stupid enough to think that their paltry weekday ticket discount is a good deal.

I think the bigger issue for Disney is that it seems to have devalued their direct park ticket because they make it available through discount travel agents.

Help me with what I might be missing…I happen to be going to DL for 3 weekdays this coming April. I would pay $330, which is only $110 per day and that includes LL Multi Pass?
Yeah, DL is a good deal IF you are OK with weekdays only and IF you are OK limiting it to 3-days.

It’s $601 in late March for a park hopper with LLMP 3-day. It’s $776 for a 5-day.

So, $420 for a 3-day is a good deal. WDW already gets an incredible deal on their DVC AP, so it’s about time they give DLanders something here.

Now, if I can upgrade to a 5-day for an extra $175….And maybe snag some weekends with that upgrade….

Lurking troll post:

Buy direct for blue card to get a discount.🤷‍♂️ That you can get anyways through third party or Chase Disney CC. But wait you get this somewhat AC lounge experience in a green house with free pop. But, I can stroll into club cool without an elevator wait and better ac that’s better located for my free pop. 😂

Soda...they don't understand pop. 🥰

It’s not objecting to them being a for-profit company. It’s objecting to bad faith representation. Sure — it’s not dishonest, 1% is indeed a “special price.” But it’s not exactly honest either.

Imagine they announced a special exciting new fireworks show… huge marketing for a fireworks extravaganza. You get there, the lights dim… and they launch a single little sparkler. Show over.

You’d be disappointed.

They marketed a specially priced 5 day weekday ticket. I’d say it was pretty natural to assume there would be some significance to the discount — you’re giving up weekend use AND paying $99.

To then see literally a 1% discount — that is disappointing and even insulting. As Judge Judy said famously, “don’t pee on my leg and call it rain.”
1% off is not a specially priced ticket. It would be more sincere to say “specially priced tickets available for certain weeks”— blacking out half the year would show more good faith than a 1% discount half the year.

When we are going for spring break a 5-day park hopper with memory maker is $1049. All weekdays. Without memory marker it’s $858.

On a popular Disney ticket and hotel agency site it is $798.

With MMB it would be $725. So, for a family of 4 that saves us $193+ after the $99 fee.

Yes, it only works IF you are OK with weekdays. But, can we please quit it with this 1% savings stuff.

AND we get the Memory Maker, preferred lounges access, and cheap OTUP…. oh and we go to Disneyland as well so we get an even better deal there….

I don’t see that as “bad faith” unless I am missing something.

Can we use buy the One-time-use points and then use those points towards a Sorcerer Pass?
I wouldn’t think so since you can only buy OTU points when making a new reservation at 7 months or less…

I just wish they offered something for the people going to places like Aulani or Vero Beach and Hilton Head... why could they not extended the photo pass for those places? They should have some sort of benfits for the dvc outside of the parks too.

Maybe Aulani on photopass but there are no photopass options at HHI or VB.

VB 50% off chair rentals? HHI extra % off at signals? Not sure what could be offered there at those two.

Also not really sure how enforceable it would be as when having the character interaction at the member event in the summer they never checked for dvc-y

I have only been to Aualni out of those three. But yes having the photopass work there would have been great for us. We love our beach beach pics there and our AP photopass does not work there. So it would have been a real benfit.

If you book at the 7 month window, you should always use one-time-use-points even if you don't "need" them, even before this offer. It's a huge value for members that amounts to roughly a 50% discount off of rack rate.

Priority:
1. Banked (or already-borrowed) points
2. One-time-use points
3. Current points
4. Borrow points
I hadn't considered that. Buy 1/2 price OTUPS and save your actual points for the next trip. Thank you.
We get Memory Maker every year so this program is an automatic benefit for me.

Been pretty clear, it’s up to 10% certain dates. Most popular weeks, it’s 1%.

I never buy memory maker.
Next trip is around Memorial Day.

Regular 5 day ticket— $679.36
Under MMB, it is $670.

A savings of 1.3%

Those are separate benefits, that indeed work for many people.

The 1.3% discount can’t even be considered a real discount— as it only applies if you want exactly a 5 day ticket, and only if forfeit weekends. (Imagine if they said… “free soda included on trips to Disney World”— but then when they release details, the entitlement is just 1 sip of sparkling water, between the hours of 4:30 am and 5:00am, on the 14th hole of the golf course. Woohoo, free soda on Disney trips!)

It would literally be a better deal if they just gave you a flat 1.3% off tickets.

I don’t see that as “bad faith” unless I am missing something.

Why is not considered "real"? It is money off so no matter if you were not going to buy that type of ticket or not or how small it is, it is still a "real" discount.

Yes it might not be the best for your situation since you have stated repeatedly that you would not use any of the other features of MMB.

If you were to buy the max 8 tickets on 5/26/2025, that would be a savings of $75.12 but in reality it would end up costing you more $23.88 more after paying the $99 to get MMB.

It certainly makes sense for you to pass.
For many others like myself I come out way ahead purchasing this.

On another note..
Yes being weekday tickets is not the best but you can now have 7 days in a park though in 2025 by Check in on Saturday and use the Free Water Park day, Sunday use the included water park from the ticket and then M-F spend day at one of the theme parks.
