Membership Magic Beyond

So the Photopass perk that comes with MMB is only for a 30-day period beginning the first day of use during the calendar year of purchase? If we go back later in the same year (beyond 30 days), it would not be included?
That is my understanding. Most likely as it is tied to the incentive of the 5 day tickets so you won't be going back in their minds to need photopass memory maker again.

The discounted WDW ticket hardly seems worth the savings with all of the restrictions. Really disappointing.

And honestly, a ten-page document just for the WDW discounted ticket benefit? Plus all the info related to the other perks? Disney still hasn't gotten the message that they make everything too complicated. Compare all of the different room categories at Poly now with BCV (our original home resort). You keep doing you, Disney, lol.

Yes and then compare it to the DL ticket deal where it lists the non peak and peak days as the same except near the end of the year: Non Peak 1/12/25 - 12/19/25 and Peak 1/12/25 - 1/3/26

I tend to overthink these things! Now trying to figure out how this would coordinate with my AP. I have an AP with the Photopass option, good through April. If I buy MMB, can I prioritize my current AP Photopass for trips in Jan and Mar, renew my current AP without the AP PP in May, and then use the MMB PP 30-day option for a trip next September? Not sure we have the answer yet!

Like so many of these offerings, there are way more questions than answers, especially with granular situations like I'm specifically looking at!

This really changes the math for getting a MK as a non-local IF we are OK with weekdays only and IF we are OK with only 3-days…. $601 vs $420….

I hope someone gets this early on and let’s us know if the ticket could be upgraded post purchase to a 5-day….

Even if you have a MK it gives options during black out periods :)

Apparently I'm late to the party, but the 5-day weekday tickets are only 10% off? This was literally the only part of this I would be interested in, and I was guessing that the discount would be 25%, maybe 30%.

10% off is almost insulting. Especially since it looks like the AP point exchange seems reasonable. Apparently no love for us DVC members that don't live close to WDW....

Yes I agree. Also wish they had a 3 day version like DL, we often do shorter trips so a 5 day pass doesn't work for my family.

Actually, it’s only 10% during true low crowd days. Much of the year, it’s only 1-2% off.

Just not broad enough for you. From the vast majority it seems there's something there that they will enjoy $99+ out of it.

Many do.voice the...what's next ane future pricing concern given the popularity and uptake of this new program

I wouldn’t presume to speak for the vast majority. In fact, I’d say it would not have value for the majority of DVC members.

But I really don’t know.

Yeah. Ridiculous. Considering that the current DVC perks for dining, merch, etc, are 10-20% withOUT a buy-in fee, this should have been 20% off as a bare minimum.

It has no value for us. In fact, it sort of sours me a bit as it has a "pay-for-play" feel to it with the Lounge Access. I think that almost every time we've been to the Epcot lounge over the past 2 years, it's been on at least a 30-minute wait, so without this, we probably just won't get in. Also, we have never bought OTUP or the Memory Maker (unless it was already in the AP).

That's OK with us though. We may not be the target audience here. In fact, we will have a lengthy stay over New Year's at the Cabins and will probably just go to SeaWorld or Discovery Cove (which is capacity controlled) on our park days. The rest of the time, we'll just enjoy the Fort (we are done with any of the parks for the time between Christmas and NYE, just too many people...).

Agree. I don't like/agree with the Lounge Access thing, I have never used or needed OTU points, we don't live close enough for the points-for-AP thing to be worth anything, the Memory Maker discount to me is like a "big sale" discount, where you buy it for the sale, but if there wasn't a sale, then you wouldn't have bought it all and saved money. And now, with the terrible weekday ticket discount...

I'm out.

I think it could also work for something like my case. We’re doing a Feb 2025 trip before our AP expires March 1st, and they have photopass. If we’d like to take another trip in 2025 but not ready to commit to buying another AP until sometime in 2026, this 5 day ticket and free 30 day photopass might just do the trick.

Yes, 100%. But there are sometimes things that actually are mutually beneficial.

DVC being an example — buying DVC can save people money on vacation (though not as much as often advertised), while also increasing profits for Disney.

The old TIW card was a good example of mutual benefit.

And certainly, there are things you can give at almost no cost, that have immense subjective value.

For example, used to be at parties — DVC members got earlier entry than regular party ticket holders.

One free thing they easily could have offered: room upgrades when available. Costs nothing, if there is availability.

There are plenty of low cost things you can do to create subjective value.

Go back 10-15 years… the dining plan was $30-40… The math didn’t come down to pennies. Most people would realize at least some savings.

Also combine this with the fact the dining plan is locking you into paying extremely inflated food prices for your entire trip as well. The dining plan is no longer a value. It's a mental convenience.

Yeah the 5 day WDW tickets are pretty insulting. I did a test for tickets starting 2/17.

Discounted weekday 5 day is $705 and park hopper $800
Regular 5 day is $714 and park hopper is $809 and you can use them on weekends.

The only plus I can see is you get a waterpark day (which you also get on day of check in in 2025 anyway soooo....)
