I believe they have to cancel since you used the 11 month window.

It stinks that it wasn’t at the beginning or end of the trip so you could have grabbed that with the OTUP and dropped the one day.
Thanks. I think it’s silly that they can’t break up my booking so I keep days 1-3 and day 5 and drop day 4 (which is what’s available now).

If I booked 5 single nights at 11 months I could have cancelled day 4 and rebooked.

BTW, I was trying to achieve this today with transferring banked points but originally planned on doing this with the OTUP. Kind of similar but slightly different.

The reason they don’t do it is because it would be seen as a work around to get days ahead of the 11 month window.

If you could split it, then owners could book a 6 night at 11 months and then split it later and end up with two reservations and one not booked at 11 months.

While your situation would be to just replace, in others it might not be.

And there is a benefit to doing n 11 month booking as a split stay from the start…if it’s not a really hard to get room….so you can swap points if it comes available.

I am leaning towards using MMB and some of our RIV points for passes next year. Our passes expire in FEB after our next trip. And we don't plan to go back until probably September or October, so a 7 or 8 month gap. I was thinking we should let our 2 passes expire and then just use points for new passes instead of renewing.

This will cost us 75 points instead of 65 for the renewal. So it will cost an extra 10 points per pass, but it the resulting passes will be eventually be good for 7 or 8 more months after our trips next fall. Considering a full pass costs 75, an extra 10 points should well be worth an extra 7 to 8 months right?

For some reason it still feels weird spending "more" points, even if my brain math says it is well worth it. It makes sense right? 🤣

Did they say whether or not you can use OTU points for a pass..? I assume no but 🤷‍♂️

Actually the FAQ says you can use OTUP. Was planning on making 24 of the points OTUP if I am joining MMB anyway. It seems like a good sweet spot. Pay for MBB, get super cheap OTUP and put them towards passes. So passes are a split of some cash and some points, and you get MMB benefits then as well.

Edit: With my math it looks like it would be $99 for MMB + 240 for the OTUP at BOGO, so $339 + 126 points (63 points each) for 2 new passes. Or the same $ plus 53 points each for renewals

Q: Can I use one-time-use Points to help purchase or renew a Disney Sorcerer Pass with Vacation Points?
A. Yes.

I agree! We plan to get annual passes every other year by going in June one year and May the next.

Apologies if I missed this. Do we know if the characters in the lounge start right away? I have a trip at the end of the month and would like to try that perk

Just checked my digital card in my phone wallet, and DVC Y has now been updated to “DVC BY”, reflecting my enrollment in Membership Magic Beyond. I feel so special.

Now I have FOMO because mine haven’t updated (yet) 😅

ETA: when I look at my membership card from the DVC membership site it shows DVC BY.

Ditto. Hopefully it's not different between Android and iPhone in terms of how long it takes to gets this adjusted but it did just roll out today so I'm not worried.

Edit: just looked on my old iPhone, that hasn't been updated either so it's something on Disney's end
