May the Force lead you to a Healthy Lifestyle - May W.I.S.H Thread

Topic Tuesday -

Do you find you do better with your healthy life goals when you have some sort of "marker" coming up (like a vacation, academic year transition, etc.) or does it derail you instead?
I'm having all sorts of issues with posting from my iPhone which is a real pain because I'm hardly home enough to use my MacBook. Anyway, I agree that having a marker like my work daughter's wedding in July and my annual physical definitely help me to stay motivated or get back on track after a slip.

WOO HOO! I interviewed for a part time summer job at an inner city "summer camp". There will be no forests, lakes, or even tents. It will mostly be inside, but there will be field trips every Wednesday. The shifts are split, and I was fortunate enough to get a choice of whether I wanted mornings or afternoons. I chose mornings because the city wakes up in the afternoon and becomes increasingly unsafe as the day goes on. I should be home every day by 1:00PM giving me a little time to myself to enjoy my pool, read my books, have friends over for the afternoon, and get chores done so that I can have a clean house this summer. I had way too much time to myself last summer to mourn my brother, eat too much, and be depressed. Having a purpose and a reason to wake up each morning for 8 weeks will keep me busy and in a routine so that it will be easier to take care of myself and continue to lose weight. The extra money will also be helpful.

Thankful that day two of vacation is another bright and sunny spring day. Thankful for another good night's sleep and being able to sleep in until I woke up naturally, which was the regular time but not having to think about makes a world of difference.

Thankful that I remembered to buy one of those neck fans. I had packing totally figured out to the point I thought it would throw things off, but I packed for reals this morning and thankfully got everything to fit, including taking a bonus dress that was on the maybe list.

Thankful for thinking that restarting acupuncture would be a good thing and thankful that I found an appointment for today at a clinic right next door to the apartment complex. And thankful that living here is so walkable with so many things so close by.

I'm thankful that we had a gorgeous sunny day in the middle of a very rainy week. The rain was much needed and has helped with the pollen, but the kids really needed outside recess today. They just needed to RUN and play outside.

I'm thankful that there are only 26 days left of school. It's been a challenging year. I will miss many of my students, but I'm ready for this year to be over.

Very light and delightful plan for today. Started with beach time, currently having lunch on the patio at a new to me neighborhood eatery. Massage in a couple hours followed by a few misc household chores while playing Disney videos on the tv. Then early to bed because wake up time tomorrow is 4am so I don’t have to rush around to catch the 5:20a ferry. All in all a magical day to kick off a magical week.

Happy Social Saturday! - Here's a quick BuzzFeed quiz that asks your favorite musical from different decades and tries to guess your sign from that:

I got -

and while I think I do kind of fit the description on the bottom, my actual birthday falls under Libra.

:sunny: My favorite musical from the quiz was Annie, because we put it on in 6th grade, and it was a lot of fun. (I was a maid in the Warbucks mansion.)

❓- Were any of your favorites included?

I also got earth sign but I’m a Gemini which is all air.

Got to the gate at the airport with an hour to spare till boarding starts. The plane is also here so that’s a good sign. Now fingers crossed the ceiling doesn’t fall out and the plane doesn’t catch fire… Delta has had a couple rough weeks.

Yesterday was absolute perfection. With the dietary changes I’ve made, the inflammation in my body is down and the massage was very effective, one of the best I’ve had. Then I went out to dinner at a place by the water and had an excellent salmon meal for dinner. I’ll be having salmon for dinner again tonight… at POP!

I'm really feeling for my DD right now. After 10 days together, her boyfriend who lives in the UK is going home. I can't imagine how her heart will ache as she says, "Farewell" today and while she waits 8 weeks for her trip to see him in the UK. She chose long distance...then again, do we really choose with whom we fall in love? They met through their friends who are getting married in the fall. DD is the Maid of Honor, and he is the Best Man. She has been living in a Rom Com for the past 10 days, but here comes the hard part...
