After crossing over the bridge and taking photos of the food booths it was time to take a quick visit to Diagon Alley.
Wanted to take a quick moment and talk about the food booths. The food options during the Mardi Gras celebration have really grown in just the last 2 years. The food booths are open during the day and evening.
The day park attendees are buying food from the booths.
The reason I bought this up is that during
HHN the food from the booths is only on offer in the evening on the days when the event is held. Not sure why Universal does not do a trial of offering the food for HHN during the day when the event is being held.
This would give day guests a chance to purchase the food. The food booths are very busy with long lines on the nights thats HHN is held. There are many of us who stay numerous days at the Resorts who do go to the parks during the day and there are day guests who go to the park during the day who do not attend HHN. Universal is missing out on those people purchasing food from the booths.
Just a thought.
Passing by Grimmwald Place wets your appetite for Diagon Alley.
It is one of the famous addresses for Potter fans. The address for one of the Order of Phoenix’s meeting places 12 Grimmauld Place.
Sirius Blacks family‘s old Georgian Terraced home which magically appears when Mad Eye Moody taps his walking stick on the ground a specified number of times and the bricks slide open to reveal the old home. The location of the home was protected by a Fidelius Charm.
It‘s also the home of the mean House Elf Kreacher.
After Sirius Blacks death 12 Grimmwauld Place and its House Elf Kreacher were left to Harry Potter in the Will of Harrys Godfather Sirius.
Kreacher did eventually warm to Harry. He actually fought along side Harry and the other Hogwarts Elves against the Death Eaters and Voldemort at the battle of Hogwarts.
Another entrance to Diagon Alley. I remember a number of years ago when my older sister moved to the Orlando area full time. I told her she needed to go and see Diagon Alley.
She went and she called me and told me she could not find it. She was looking for a sign that designated the entry. After a bit of a chuckle I told her there was not supposed to be a sign. I directed her to the main entrance where as she walked in she could hear the bricks open.
There is that jaw dropping magical moment that happens as soon you walk in and look down the street and see the shops and the Dragon atop Gringotts Bank.
The main entrance was clogged so I went through the other way which is actually an exit. All the regulars know about this way in.
The Hopping Pot was really busy. There was a line so no Fishy Green Ale for me today. I like that drink. It is interestingly and bit of an odd flavor that actually is good. It tastes like cinnamon with a mild mint flavor and there is blueberry Boboa in the bottom of the drink.
It was busy and there were a lot of people in Diagon Alley. I decided to go have a look around Globus Mundi the Wizarding Worlds
Travel Agency.
