I just woke up from a 3 hour nap and realized that this wasn’t necessary for tomorrow since we don’t go in the same way. But this is good to know for Springtime which I’m doing and next year probably. So thanks.
And now I understand why since that’s on a turn I was focused on that. Not looking for characters. Not the best place for a photo.
I really wish people would be more cognizant of where they are walking. And stop walking in huge bunches of people I run/walk and I hate that we get a bad rap because other people don’t care.
Hoping the marathon has more room to stretch out tomorrow.
Yeah that was not fun to deal with at points. I’m officially fast enough now that it’s starting to become less of an issue. But it’s still one.
Positives:
-First time reaching the rolling section coming into Epcot and having enough space to allow myself to move without to much of an issue
-Cleared the entirety of MK before it even started becoming light
-Shoutout to the CMs working Donald and Daisy line who saw me coming and instantly knew what to do. More then once had to explain even later in the race that no I can’t go into grass. Not meanly mind you but just it was nice to not have to this time. I’m going to stop by GET to see if it’s possible to file a compliment for a whole character stop attendant.
-Even though the temps weren’t in the range for it. Good on runDisney for having a high number of water stops after we got through MK. It actually threw me off at first. Because I’ve only done a couple of races with them that frequently. So I had to recalibrate my fluid plans. Ended up not needing my pack which was nice.
-Biggest surprise was I successfully executed the turn at Grand Floridian. It was a sharp tight turn especially for us. But I managed to angle myself just right to make it would having to take my feet out of the stirrups.
-Had to get creative with a few stops and how to get in and out of them (Tangled I had to circle around the plantar and back onto the course. Darkwing I went into the parking lot. Did a full U-turn before going to get the photo.) but managed all of the ones I saw in time to get it.
- Got my castle photo without any issue this time. Was hyper aware of the tracks after Princess. To the point I’m probably going to have two sets of coming out of castle photos since I passed those Photopass people twice.
-Wasn’t expecting the photopass coming off of the TAB area. But it makes sense since it lines up nicely for photos.
-Didn’t lose nearly as much time at stops as I expected. Longest line I encountered was Donald and Daisy. And due to the fact that I couldn’t go up to them. I ended up skipping the line by accident.
Negative:
- Could definitely tell there was more runner’s than I’m used to for cone alley when I’m pacing where I was.
-Ballard was supposed to be taken out. It was not. Not the end of the world but still not fun.
- Spacial awareness still needs work. And this is also something I had a bit of an issue today. Think lack of sleep for me made it worse then normal. But also had runners with music all the way up. Which most of the time it is what it is. But didn’t particularly appreciate the swear I got on the Contemporary hill after yelling several warnings and still going around them.
Not positive or negative just interesting things:
- Watched the sweep occur as I was inbound for Epcot. Last time I saw this was exiting ESPN when we ran there as runners were coming in. Unlike that year where I was around 3-4 miles ahead. I was almost double at 8 since I was getting close to mile 10. Gives me high confidence for shenanigans for tomorrow.
-This confirms the suspicion that I race better with slightly warmer conditions than colder. I wasn’t even trying and I was outpacing the time from the first two days. This also explains how I was able to PR under hot conditions.
Overall one of my best races period even if it wasn’t my best time.
