Madame Leota's Crystal Ball October 2024 Exercise Thread

I'm on a rollercoaster of emotion. I finally made a full recovery from my cold, but then Jacob caught it. Then Charles got an ear infection. Sleep has been inconsistent at best. But! We made it out to a pumpkin patch this weekend and rode a hayride and we watched some spooky movies and generally are trying to make the best of things. I have 245 minutes since my last update. Mostly all from walks outside in the nice fall-ish weather!

I'm sorry you all have not been feeling well. It's especially difficult to see our little ones feeling poorly.

The pumpkin patch and movies sound like a lot of fun!!!

Congratulations to ShannyMcB and Raya for turning Prognostication Purple, to Elizabeth Smith and me for turning Forward-Looking Fuchsia, and to Twilight Sparkle for jumping to Glimpse Green! The TEAM stands at Prognostication Purple.

Here's something that's about to happen in the next few minutes. Disney just announced that this evening, the Lobby Bar at the Disneyland Hotel is becoming the Broken Spell Lounge, themed to Sleeping Beauty. Here's the menu.

Congratulations to PollyannaMom for turning Forward-Looking Fuchsia and to me for turning Reinvent Red!

For the California parks, there is a long-term project called Disneyland Forward. Disney is teasing bringing new lands and attractions like those being built in overseas parks. The plan might/could/maybe involve new lands being built around the Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Pier Hotel and on the current Toy Story parking lot (there's a map at the end of the teasers).

In the meantime, visitors to Disneyland will have a chance to see an animatronic figure of Walt Disney. The new show "Walt Disney--A Magical Life" will debut in 2025 and then alternate with "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln."

Congratulations to me for turning Glimpse Green!

Lots of upcoming plans for Disney California Adventure announced at D23.

First, DCA will be the location of the first ever Coco attraction, a trip to the Land of the Dead. Apparently it was inspired by Disney classic rides such as Pirates and HM and will feature lots of Audio-Animatronics and music. Here are 5 things to know. Work is set to begin in 2026.

Second, there is intended to be some sort of Pandora area or land, inspired by Avatar: Way of Water and an upcoming third Avatar film. Here are 7 things to know. Plans so far are vague, but there likely will be some sort of boat attraction. No construction or opening dates have been announced.

The question is, where are these attractions going to go? For Coco, it looks like the Paradise Gardens area or maybe somewhere in Pixar Pier? For Pandora, potential locations might be in the Grizzly Peak area (please, no!) or the Hollywood Land area (better, I guess).

Hit the gym yesterday morning (60 minutes) and did a walking scavenger hunt by the White House last night. If you ever get a chance I recommend Watson Adventures (https://watsonadventures.com). We ended up running around for about 4 miles over the course of an hour, having a great time solving puzzles and learning about ghostly historic events. I'm counting 40 minutes of that time, because there was definitely some moments where we had to stop and think.

That sounds ridiculously cool!

I have 120 minutes since my last update from walking, yoga, and a little Chloe Ting. I wasn't super consistent with my exercise over the last week, but I think things are finally starting to return to normal here, though I hesitate to say that because I don't want to jinx anything. Hopefully I can end the month strong without anymore sickness, sleeplessness, or stress! I'm ready for a Happy Halloween!

Congratulations to Elizabeth Smith for turning Reinvent Red!

Disney Cruise Line has big plans in the works.

The Disney Treasure will arrive in just a few months, in December. She will be cruising on 7-night itineraries out of Port Canaveral.

Coming in November 2025 is the Disney Destiny. She will be cruising on 4- and 5-night itineraries out of Fort Lauderdale.

Setting sail in December 2025 is the Disney Adventure, which will offer 3- and 4-night voyages out of Singapore. The Disney Adventure is unusual because it was not originally built for DCL. It was acquired while under construction (as the Global Dream) in the shipyard after Genting Hong Kong, Star Cruises, Dream Cruises, and MV Werften all filed for bankruptcy in 2022.

And at D23, DCL announced it will have four more new ships debuting between 2027 and 2031!

Happy Halloween, everyone! :hmghost:

To wrap up the month, let's look at what is projected for the international parks.

Both Shanghai and Hong Kong will see some new Spider Man attractions! A Spider Man coaster is planned for Shanghai, and Hong Kong also will be getting a Spider Man attraction, rumored to be a drop ride based on Tower of Terror.

And over at Disneyland Paris, they are going to see some huge changes. Starting in January, DLP is going to have a new nighttime spectacular. In bigger news, the second park is going to be renamed Disney Adventure World. In 2026, it's going to add the World of Frozen and a new nighttime show on the lake. Eventually, Disney Adventure World is going to add a whole land themed to the Lion King! Here's an article that describes these additions, along with concept art.

I can't wait to get to Disney Shanghai and Disney Tokyo some day! The overseas parks look so cool. So I did some math, and got stubborn, then pounded out 5K on my treadmill so I'd make my minutes this month. :P I didn't realize I could do a 5K like that when it's been a month since I last ran and over a year since I was running regularly. I'm excited to keep it up!

I've got a date with the gym tonight to put me at 100% but I'll come back and post about that later - who knows what could happen on a spooky Halloween night!

Not near my spreadsheet right now, but if adding up correctly from the notes on my phone, I have 110 new minutes to finish out the month at 585/600 (I guess I shouldn't have been lazy this morning! - I'd have made it.)

Anyway,

Everyone!!

And thanks @sophy1996 for hosting!!

Made it to the gym! 60 minute of a very good workout except for wall sits which are evil. :) But it gets me to my goal.. Happy Halloween!

I have a final 30 minutes to add from exercise bike riding and Growwithjo. We had a great Halloween here! Charles enjoyed trick or treating for the first time. He went as a ketchup packet.
