Hot off the March 7-12 sailing on the Fantasy. We were hesitant about getting off for Lookout Cay based on a number of comments on this and other boards. I have to say the beach at Serenity Bay was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, especially the pinkish sand. I assume the family beach on the same side of the island is equally gorgeous. Enjoy!

It is beautiful! Our problem is that we were on a cruise that had a higher percentage of adults and there were no beach chairs available on Serenity Bay. And at lunch, people were walking around with trays because there was no where to sit. But we found the beach areas beautiful on both the adult and family beaches.

The beach is absolutely beautiful. The water is stunning. The infrastructure needs a lot more development.

When we were there, it was rainy the whole day. I would like to go back with nicer weather so we can go on the nature walk and see the caves, lighthouse and southern tip of the island.

It’s stunning, isn’t it? After visiting during each cruise for many weeks, it quickly became one of my favorite destinations

Have they figured out how to clearly separate Serenity Bay from the Family Beach yet? Or are families still easily able to encroach on SB?

When we were there in Feb they had a cast member standing on the board walk right at the separation. He would come down and tell family’s they couldn’t go there.

Funny thing is a lady took a picture of the sign and continued to sit on that side. But really didn’t make much different since when she moved she just sat across the sand to chair there…lol Not sure how they can separate it better. He even had to go out to the water and tell kids to move over.

If the weather is good, LP is wonderful. We grab a lounger before the dune for our towels and go stand in the surf for a while. Later we use our towels to dry off our rinsed feet and go sit at the bar to enjoy the view in comfort. At Castaway we enjoy our sand chairs in the surf. We also book a ride down to the tram car and then walk back. We don't stay at LP past 1p and don't eat there. We've never had a problem with flies or finding a seat to eat. I just like my warm food to be warm. I have wondered if the large opening between the food and the seating is where the dancers perform. To be fair we no longer eat at Castaway either.

Funny I was just thinking about not eating on Castaway for our upcoming cruise. The food is just meh and cold. I want to eat at LP just because it is our first time there but may reconsider if there are lots of people at Serenity Bay.

We noticed on our last visit to LP that by 12:30p there are tables available around the bars so maybe wait until then for the food. My guess is if those tables are available that the eating pavilions are less full also - but that just an assumption. They do have some nice fish - salmon and cod, just like on the ship - but it was cold by the time I tried to eat it.

We went to the other one at the family beach to eat they have different stations and windows compared to the adult side and more seating. It was much faster to get food.

Annoying. I'll see for myself in August, but I'm already expecting the lack of separation is going to be a complaint from me.

But isn't the whole buffet 2 sides of the same stuff mostly?
It is. So you get the same food options- sometimes they don’t offer crab legs on days when they stop at Lookout or castaway, but the rest of it’s the same, and sometimes they do have crab legs, but not always

We've been there twice and that seems to be the norm, no matter what the mix of adults/kids.
Agree. Really missed the mark on appropriate number of tables/seats. Between that and cold/overcooked food, we really didn’t enjoy the lunch experience. Island is beautiful though.
