Long lines for Guardians

Here’s my experience from yesterday. I pulled off the 5 south around 11:10am. The bridge was backed up to the entrance so I went straight. They had just blocked the fork right when I got to the light so I went down and turned to park in Pixar. I walked over to dtd and was through security by 11:50am. They only had 1 person managing both sides at Pixar booths. Also once they directed me up to level 6 there wasn’t anyone directing parking when you got up there which is not normal for still being that early in the day.

Wow! I've heard of people arriving yesterday from 8 am -10:30 pm who had to wait hours. I wonder what changed when you arrived.

@DonnerB that SUV is always there. They intermittently put the cones up to redirect traffic away from M&F and then take them down. Also, last year when Believe got blocked on Saturdays, it was much nicer. That said, I don't think the masses yesterday were Believe MK holders.

Ha! Maybe without Believe on Saturday and without the $50 kids tickets, it will lighten up. Interestingly, Believe is blocked the week before Easter but there is no Fantasmic those evenings. Is Disney expecting big crowds that week or not?

Maybe we see the SUV because that is the way we access M&F. We rarely go over the ramp, but try to veer right. Sometimes we are let in and sometimes we are redirected. When I say it is always there, I should have said "on weekend mornings."

Another traffic issue is the right turn from Disneyland Drive to Magic Way to enter Pixar Pals. Cars need to merge to the left and then merge to the right. Not sure why they do that.

Isn’t Guardians supposed to close in mid-March for refurbs? I’m not shocked by the 100+ min standbys due to this closure.

This used to be a bit more common pre pandemic before the pixar garage opened. I remember several Saturday mornings with backups to the bridge. I used to just stay on the freeway down to Toy Story.

I guess this will be my new move when warranted...I prefer to take the pedestrian bridge and do security at Downtown Disney just to stay moving, but that security line has been unusually long the past few times I used it too. Theoretically I could walk from Toy Story but it's a lot less appealing.

It closes tomorrow. Some folks on Reddit were saying that the ride was down to one elevator yesterday, which seems insane. (I might quietly vote to close the ride at that point.)

It’s been one elevator shaft (2 of 6 gantries) for at least the last 3 weeks which is why the wait times have been out of control.
